However, the blind pursuit of variety diversification ignores product quality, and is limited by processing technology and scale, and the overall quality is at the middle and lower level.
 
The Xing No. 2 rice, which was jointly cultivated by the Hunan Rice Institute and other scientific research institutions, is the most recommended and has won the Yuan Longping Agricultural Expo Award. As a kind of indica rice, Star No. 2 rice is slender in appearance, white and opaque, the volume of rice grains expands less after water absorption, the entrance is smooth and chewy, suitable for mushrooms, wild vegetables and other foods with a unique smell, the price is reasonable, 1 catty is about 7 yuan.
 
The price of Jinjian rice does not have much advantage, basically 5-7 yuan/catty, and all products are vacuum-packed to effectively prevent the rice from getting wet. In addition, the heavy metal pollution in the soil of Hunan is serious, and the heavy metals in Hunan rice have repeatedly exceeded the standard, affecting Jinjian rice, but in recent years, no heavy metals have been detected in the national quality sampling.
