Hubei Provincial Museum-Institutional Review

Hubei Provincial Museum is the museum with the highest specifications and the most abundant collections in Hubei Province, with a collection of more than 260,000 pieces and 16 national treasures. For those interested in Wu Chu culture or ancient Chinese history, the Hubei Provincial Museum is a must-see.

The Hubei Provincial Museum is mainly composed of a comprehensive exhibition hall, a bell hall and a Wuchu cultural hall, each of which is divided into different theme exhibition halls. The collections in the museum are of great historical value, among them, the sword of King Goujian of Yue, the bell of Zeng Hou Yi, the fossil skull of Yunxian people, and the plum vase of Yuan blue and white four love pictures are the treasures of the four major museums of the Hubei Museum. Visitors can enjoy the splendid civilization of ancient China and the richness of Wu and Chu culture here.

The museum has four floors, mainly distributed in the special exhibition hall of Zeng Houyi, the ancient porcelain exhibition hall, the Yunxian people exhibition hall, the Chu culture exhibition hall and other special exhibition halls. The first floor of the museum is a multi-functional lecture hall, so visitors do not need to stay, and the collection is only on display above the second floor. The second floor is mainly the exhibition hall of the tomb of Marquis B, which is the tomb of Jun B of Zeng Guo in the early Warring States period, and it is also the starting point of the visit. The most outstanding collection in the exhibition hall of the tomb of Marquis Yi is the bell of Marquis B. Chimes are a kind of percussion instruments in ancient times, and the whole set of Chimes of Marquis Yi is 64 pieces, which are huge in number and complete. The whole set of chimes varies in size and shape, with a total weight of about 5,000 kilograms. These chimes were unearthed in 1978 in the tomb of Zeng Hou B in Suixian County, Hubei Province, so they are called Zeng Hou B chimes, and the exquisiteness of the skills makes people marvel.

The third floor is mainly equipped with exhibition halls such as Yunxian people, Qujialing, Panlong City, the tomb of King Liangzhuang, and the art of earth and fire. One of the most worth visiting is the art exhibition hall of Yunxian people and earth and fire. "Yunxian Human Skull Fossil" was unearthed in 1989, which is a paleolithic human skull fossil and the first ancient human fossil found in Hubei. Another treasure of the museum, "Yuan Blue and White Four Love Plum Vase", is exhibited in the Earth and Fire Art Exhibition Hall, with bright colors and rare Yuan blue and white boutiques. In addition, the Qujialing exhibition hall shows the life of the society in the Jianghan area in the prehistoric period, and the Panlong City exhibition hall shows the archaeological discoveries of the Panlong city site in the Shang Dynasty.

The most unmissable part of the museum is the Chu Culture Exhibition Hall on the fourth floor, where a "Yue Wang Goujian Sword" makes people feel that the trip is worthwhile. "Yue Wang Goujian Sword" was unearthed in 1965 and is a self-acting sword of Yue Wang Goujian. The sword has a slender body and turquoise inlays on the back, making it extremely beautiful. This sword is stainless for thousands of years, and its craftsmanship is amazing.

The Hubei Provincial Museum has a complete interpretation system, and the museum hall has free volunteer interpretation services at half past two in the afternoon every day. In addition, visitors can also rent audio guides for a fee and hire Chinese and English narrators. Visitors who want to have a more comprehensive understanding of the Hubei Museum online can also download the "Pocket Smart Museum" APP to obtain all-round information about the museum.

Visitors who have more time can also enjoy the performance at the Chime Recital Hall. The recital hall is equipped with a full range of influences and lighting facilities, allowing people to experience the beauty of ancient traditional musical instruments. Chimes are played three times a day, each performance lasts about 30 minutes, and the ticket price is currently 20 yuan.
