Changchun Temple is the largest and most well-preserved Taoist building complex in Wuhan, and it is the same as Beijing Baiyun Temple, Xi'an Baxian Nunnery, Shenyang Taiqing Palace, etc. The word "Changchun" comes from Qiu Chuji, the founder of the Quanzhen School of Taoism, and its name is "Changchunzi". The history of Changchun Temple is very long, and the earliest Changchun Temple was built in the Yuan Dynasty. Since then, the influence of Changchun Temple has continued to expand, and both the Ming and Qing dynasties have carried out corresponding expansions, forming the existing architectural style and scale. Changchun Temple and Yellow Crane Tower are both located on the snake mountain in Wuchang, one song and one tail echo each other, and tourists can visit in turn.
Changchun view has "three uniques", respectively, the country only left a piece of "astronomical map", Tibetan and European style combination of architecture, Qianlong Emperor gave the "Gantang" stone carving. One of the most noteworthy places to visit is the unique architectural style of the Dozokaku. The Daozang Pavilion was built in the Qing Dynasty, and although the roof is a traditional Chinese tile roof with cornices, the main body of the building is a Western-style marble column structure. The hall is also decorated with mascot elephants and saffron, revealing a strong Tibetan style. It is worth mentioning that the traditional flower decoration made of cement "piled up" on the eaves of its eaves has now been lost, which can be regarded as a must. This multi-style building is perfect for tourists to take photos. "Gantang" and the astronomical map are stone carvings, the former is the authentic trace left by Qianlong, and the latter is the only existing Taoist astronomical mapper in the country to leave the picture tablet, which is very commemorative.
Changchun Temple not only allows tourists to appreciate Taoist culture, but also has good food. The dishes of Changchun Guan Vegetarian Restaurant are basically named after meat dishes, such as "vinyl steak", "pineapple grunt pork", "button meat", etc., and the color and luster at first glance are no different from the corresponding meat dishes, but the materials are all vegetarian dishes, which are quite distinctive. The vegetarian buns at the vegetarian restaurant are also its signature delicacy, and visitors who come to taste the vegetarian dishes should not miss it.
