Zhang Zhidong and Wuhan Museum-Institutional Review

There are many museums in Wuhan, but very few are dedicated to honoring individuals, with the exception of Zhang Zhidong and Wuhan Museum. Zhangzhidong and Wuhan Museum officially opened to the public in March 2018 and quickly became an Internet celebrity attraction in Wuhan.

One of the reasons why Zhangzhidong and Wuhan Museum have become Internet celebrity attractions is their unique shape. Its appearance draws on the elements of ancient Chinese architecture "flying eaves and warped corners", like a giant ship about to sail, with both traditional elements and modern sense. Hanyang Iron Works is China's first state-run iron and steel plant, founded in Wuhan by Zhang Zhidong, and Zhang Zhidong and the Wuhan Museum were built on the site of the former Hanyang Iron Works.

The main exhibition area of the museum takes the road of rise as the theme, with Zhang Zhidong's main achievements and achievements in Wuhan, Hubei Province as the main line, and displays Zhang Zhidong's main achievements during his reign in Hubei. The pavilion is decorated in black and red, giving visitors the feeling of being immersed in a huge steel-making furnace. Among the exhibits, in addition to the weapons and ammunition made in Hanyang, paper materials, and the handwriting of Jang Zhidong, the most distinctive features are the boundary monument of the Hanyang Iron Works and the monument to the commissioning of the Hanyang Iron Works. These two "treasures of the town hall" have been reported in depth by CCTV's "Treasure Appreciation" column, and they are also the most unmissable exhibits in the entire museum town.

The museum has seven floors above ground and underground, and in addition to displaying collections, there are also some floors that provide leisure and living services. The sky garden on the top floor is for visitors to sightsee, and there is also a book bar and tea bar in the museum for visitors to read books and taste tea.
