East Lake is the largest urban lake in China, nearly five times the size of Hangzhou's West Lake. The East Lake Scenic Area is adjacent to Wuhan University and has perfect ecological protection, like a paradise in the urban area of Wuhan. The scenic spots are scattered far away, so if you want to go to every place, it is recommended to travel by car.
Along the lakeside, the East Lake is divided into six scenic spots: Tingtao, Baima, Luoyan, Moshan, Luohong, Piping, and only Moshan, Luoyan and Tingtao are currently open to the outside world, among which the most worthy of tourists to see is Moshan Scenic Area.
Moshan Scenic Area not only has beautiful scenery, but also has a rich traditional cultural landscape. There is a Chu culture tour area in the scenic area, which has created a landscape such as the inscription of "Lisao", the Chu Tiantai, and the Chu city that restores the trade of the Chu people, which vividly shows the charm of Chu culture from the aspects of literature, architecture, and economy. There are also large-scale cherry blossoms planted in the Moshan Scenic Area, and there are many kinds of cherry blossoms. Tourists who love cherry blossoms can not only go to Wuhan University to enjoy cherry blossoms, but also come to the cherry blossom garden in Moshan Scenic Area to watch.
Tourists who like ancient and famous trees can go to Luoyan Scenic Area, the forest coverage rate of Ma'anshan Forest Park in the scenic area is as high as 80%, and there are many kinds of trees, with the title of Wuhan's back garden. The whole park is concave in the middle, and the two ends protrude like a saddle, hence the name. The park is also equipped with forest ziplines, bumper cars, meniscus rides, forest racing and other amusement projects, so visitors who are not very interested in ecology and nature can stay here.
The place where Tingtao Scenic Area is located is also called Huangli Bay, where mountains, water, birds, and trees together constitute a harmonious and quiet beautiful picture, and the pine trees and bamboo forests planted around it add to the artistic conception. If you can't satisfy the pure parking, you can also rent a fishing rod to get a rare quiet and relaxing while breathing in the fresh air.
In 2016, the 101-kilometer-long Donghu Road was officially put into operation, becoming the first 5A-level tourist attraction greenway in China. The greenway connects the major scenic spots in the East Lake Scenic Area, and tourists can walk, jog, ride and other activities on the greenway, which should not be missed by friends who love outdoor sports.
