VS Sassoon Sassoon Shampoo How about brand introduction

Sassoon is a rising star in P&G's shampoo brand, and unlike everyday products such as Head & Shoulders and Rejoice, Sassoon was initially positioned as a salon look. The brand is named after the internationally renowned hairdressing expert Vida Sassoon as its ambassador. Vida Sassoon is to the hairdressing world what the Beatles are to rock and roll, Picasso is to modern art, and the BoBo head was created by Sassoon.

There are a wide range of Sassoon shampoo products, including women's products in red bottles and men's products in black bottles, and they are subdivided according to curly hair, straight hair, colored hair, dull hair, and fine hair. However, there seems to be a variety of Sassoon, and the ingredients of each product have not changed much. The main ingredients of Sassoon formula are not much different from those of Reciprocal Rouge and Pantene, and the surfactants use the most traditional SLES, SLS, and cocamidopropyl betaine, add silicone oil and guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride as softeners, and use methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone and other more stimulating preservatives. At a time when other groups are constantly developing new formulas, P&G still uses very common ingredients in the industry, which has led to the trend of Sassoon, which is once prosperous, opening high and going low.

In 2017, the Consumer Council of Hong Kong issued a test report stating that the dioxane content of Sassoon products exceeded the safe level of 10 ppm recommended by the European Union. The event was vigorous, and dioxane, as a highly toxic fat-soluble substance, is extremely carcinogenic. This ingredient is often linked to SLES, the most common surfactant found in shampoos. SLES, short for sodium laureth sulfate, is an improvement on the original highly irritating SLS sodium laureth sulfate, which needs to be added to ethylene oxide in the preparation process, and it is this process that brings dioxane to the shampoo. China's "Safety and Technical Standards for Cosmetics" stipulates that dioxane must not exceed 30 ppm, according to which P&G's products are not in violation. After the incident, Procter & Gamble also made stricter control over this ingredient, controlling the dioxane content of Sassoon and other products at about 1ppm, so consumers can use it with confidence.

Sassoon products are well-formulated and more suitable for styling. For example, the Purifying Primer Men's Shampoo is perfect for men to use before styling. In terms of price, the prices of 200ml, 400ml, and 750ml are 33 yuan, 60 yuan, and 100 yuan respectively, which is slightly expensive. Unlike other P&G products, Sassoon's scent is distinctive, with a clear discernment and a wide range of layered notes.
