Meadow Fresh Ambient Milk How about foreign brands

Meadow Fresh was originally owned by New Zealand Dairy Foods with a brand history of more than 50 years, and was later sold to Australian food company Goodman Fielder through a brand exchange due to the merger of the parent company to form Fonterra. Meadow Fresh mainly deals in pasteurized milk, UHT sterilized milk, yogurt, and its products are mainly supplied to New Zealand, and it was the last company in New Zealand to produce pasteurized milk in glass bottles.
 
Meadow Fresh is sourced from Canterbury, on the southern island of New Zealand, and processed at the nearby Christchurch (Christchurch) factory, which supplies Meadow Fresh milk from Christchurch and produces Meadow Fresh milk from Christchurch, as well as Meadow Ambient milk for export to China.
 
In New Zealand, New Macadee is positioned as high-end milk, focusing on the concept of "permeate free", which is slightly more expensive than other milk brands.
 
"Permeate free" means that no milk permeate is added. Most of New Zealand's raw milk is used for processing milk powder and cheese export, and the ultrafiltration process produces permeability by-products (mainly whey, lactose, milk mineral salts, etc.). Most dairy companies will add part of the milk permeate back to the standardized production process of milk, so that the dairy protein, mineral composition and other indicators reach a unified value, so that the nutritional indicators and taste of milk in different seasons are consistent.
 
The brand claims that it wants consumers to taste the "natural flavor" of milk and feel the different flavors of milk due to seasonal changes, so it does not carry out ultrafiltration of ingredients and adds milk permeate, that is, "permeate free".
 
The protein content of Canterbury milk used by New Macadee is high, but the content changes with the milk production season, the fluctuation range is 3.5~4.5g/100ml, and the lowest value also exceeds the New Zealand raw milk standard value (3.1g/100ml). Meadow claims that products that do not use ultrafiltration retain more of their natural protein and calcium, and that they can experience different milk flavours with the seasons.
 
Theoretically, McFoy's "permeate free" approach makes the protein and calcium content of pure milk higher than the label value, and the milk flavor is more natural and rich. However, according to a survey conducted by the STUFF website, more than 60% of New Zealanders do not know the difference between "bargain milk" and high-end New-Meadow brand milk, and cannot appreciate the "natural" flavor.
 
The milk exported to China is only UHT sterilized milk, which has two kinds of whole fat and skimmed, and its nutritional composition is the same as that of the New Zealand version, with whole milk protein 3.5g/100ml, calcium 120mg/100ml, and other ingredients are exactly the same as the New Zealand version. The Chinese version of Newmet Milk is not marked with "permeate free" on the packaging of the room temperature milk, which means that the product has been standardized, and the composition of each batch of products is similar, and there is no "natural" flavor of the New Zealand version, but the nutritional content is still at a high level.
 
The price of New-Meadoo's room temperature milk on Chinese e-commerce platforms is about 11 yuan/L, and the nutritional content is slightly higher than that of similar products of Ai's Chenxi, but the price is close and it is well worth buying. There is also a 250ml small package, which costs about 3 yuan per bottle, which is lower than the large package, but the price is about the same as that of Chinese brand milk.
 
New-Meadow also launched a product in the Chinese market, this product is not sold locally in New Zealand, positioning children's milk, with a capacity of 250ml, which is convenient for children to carry and drink, and has a high protein content, its 100ml contains 4g of protein, 5g of fat, and 130mg of calcium, which is a very high-quality milk. Its price is slightly higher, 24 boxes are priced at 149 yuan, which is about the same as Jindian organic milk. The nutritional value of the cattle has reached the top level of natural milk, which is generally only available from New Zealand milk sources, and is relatively rare in the Chinese market.
