In 1996, SHS Beverage founded the WKD brand and launched its first product, WKD Iron brew. Originally, the full name of WKD was wicked (meaning evil), and after it became popular among young people, the brand name directly used the simple letter WKD. In 2001, WKD launched its second product, the WKD blue – two classics that are still WKD's bestsellers today. In 2015, the suction frozen packaging bag product was launched. 2016 also saw the launch of a new collection, WKD Fiery Shot, with 15% ABV, aimed at an aging fan base.
 
Currently, WKD is the most popular pre-mixed cocktail brand in the UK. In Morning Advertiser's statistics on global alcohol sales, WKD was on the 2018 Top Beverage Brands RTD Sales TOP9 list, with single product WKD blue, WKD Iron brew, and WKD berry ranking 1st, 7th, and 9th respectively.
 
On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, WKD launched a new brand logo, the bottle body is a central design of an exclamation mark, the three letters of WKD are simple and elegant, and the cap and the bottle body are contrasting, showing youthful vitality. The drink is mostly consumed by teenagers between the ages of 14 and 25 – although many countries prohibit underage drinking, it is common for adolescents to drink secretly at home and abroad.
 
WKD's best-selling items are WKD Blue and WKD Iron Brew, both of which are mixed fruit flavours and use triple distilled vodka as a base with 4% alcohol by volume for a mellow but non-pungent and refreshing taste. It is worth noting that the raw materials contain caffeine, and consumers who are sensitive to caffeine need to be cautious. In terms of price, a single bottle of 275ml is priced at 1.75 pounds, or about 16 yuan, but WKD has not yet entered the Chinese market.
