How about Youyi C Active Lactic Acid Bacteria Drink Brand introduction

Youyi C is a brand of Mengniu, and all products are active lactic acid bacteria drinks. Prince Milk once held more than 70% of the market share in China's lactic acid bacteria beverage industry, but it was difficult to continue due to poor management. Yakult, Mengniu, Yili, Guangming and other brands quickly encroached on the original market of Guara and became the new mainstream lactic acid bacteria beverage brand in China.

Youyi C follows the fermentation process of Yakult, and also adds reducing glucose, which enhances the reaction strength, and the product is slightly brown caramel color, with a thinner texture and better fluidity than yogurt. They are similar in terms of nutritional value, such as Youyi C Original 100ml contains 1.1g of protein, 0g of fat, 15.4g of carbohydrates, and a total caloric value of 287kJ. In addition, Youyi C also launched a 100ml small bottle of LC-37 strain, claiming that each bottle contains 50 billion live bacteria, not only that, but also added prebiotics such as polyglucose, which is conducive to supplementing dietary fiber.

Mengniu is the No. 1 brand in China's low-temperature dairy market, but the popularity of active lactic acid bacteria drinks is still not as good as that of Yakult. Unlike Yakult, which has maintained classic product practices for many years, Chinese brands have been very competitive with each other, and have diversified in the variety of probiotics, and their product strains have better viable count, acid resistance, and heat resistance.

However, the probiotic effect of commercial probiotics is difficult to reflect, and such amounts are still meaningless for improving intestinal health. In essence, active lactic acid bacteria drinks have fewer milk ingredients and should be classified as probiotic products. This is highlighted by the use of Lactobacillus paracasei-01TM culture developed by Chr. Hansen in Denmark, which advertises more than 30 billion live bacteria per bottle. The capacity of a single bottle of Youyi C is 340ml, but if you compare it with the 100ml capacity of Yakult per bottle, there is actually no difference in quantity, and the effect of live bacteria is exaggerated by publicity, and this phenomenon is reflected in every brand.

China's "Consumer Reports" and the test report of the Shenzhen Consumer Committee both pointed out that the number of live bacteria in the mainstream active lactic acid bacteria drinks on the market all reached the national standard (the number of live bacteria was greater than 1 million CFU/ml), and the number of lactic acid bacteria in some products far exceeded the standard value. The measured value of the active lactic acid bacteria of the original version of Youyi C reached 1.3 billion CFU/ml, and the measured value of the Hong Kong version of the small bottle of Youyi C reached 14 billion CFU/ml, both of which far exceeded the nominal value.

Returning to the actual role of discussion, can these bacteria be digested through gastric juice alive and colonize the intestines? Youyi C officially advertises the selection of L casei-01TM strains with excellent acid resistance and temperature resistance, which can smoothly reach the human intestine. Mengniu has also organized a public trial to simulate the strong acid environment of the stomach with a pH of 1 in vitro, and after several hours of treatment, about half of the lactic acid bacteria in Youyi C survived, which is indeed better than the general Lactobacillus casei species.

However, in vitro tests only preliminarily indicate that the strain may successfully reach the intestinal tract, and more medical test evidence is needed for the actual effect. The Atlantic Monthly once published an article titled "Yogurt Supplementation with Probiotics Is Just a Commercial Scam?" The article shows that the human intestinal flora is complex, and the individual differences are very large, even the probiotic tablets for medical use are difficult to integrate into the human microbial system, and it is difficult to regulate the intestinal system through foreign probiotics. In contrast, the microorganisms in yogurt and lactic acid bacteria drinks are even more difficult to compete with the original microorganisms in the intestine to survive, and the effect is weak.
