Reyka, known as Reyka Vodka in China, was founded in 2005 and is the only vodka brand in Iceland. In Icelandic, Reyka means steam, smoke and is largely a reflection of Iceland's environment. In Iceland, glaciers and ice cover one-tenth of the island, and the water in streams and rivers is naturally pure and drinkable. As a result, Icelandic water is also known as the purest natural water source in the world. Lake Vodka uses glacial water from the Grabok Springs in Iceland, which passes through a 4,000-year-old lava field where the lava rocks naturally filter the water. The water samples were tested to have zero impurities and a very low mineral content, so such water does not require any purification.
The raw material for the brewing of Lake Vodka is barley. Barley is low in fat, so the wine is relatively light in body. In terms of production, it is handmade and produced in small batches - a single distillation process lasts up to 6 hours, and only 255 products can be produced. After brewing, the barley is distilled using a rare Carter-Head Still. There are only six such stills in the world, and the copper content is extremely high, giving the alcohol a high degree of smoothness. After distillation, the alcohol is filtered twice through lava rocks, the head and tail are discarded, and only the core is harvested, further ensuring that impurities are minimized and the texture is soft.
Its product consists of a neutral vodka, Reyka Vodka, with a highly clear liquid with hints of fennel and black pepper, followed by dairy-like whipped cream; Take a sip, the taste is refreshing and clean, slightly sweet, with a hint of fennel and vanilla, a weak alcohol sensation, and a long aftertaste. Because of its superior water source and high purity, there is no need to worry about wasting the efforts of the brewer when making cocktails. This product won a gold medal at the 2016 New York International Spirits Competition and has been recognized internationally as "the purest vodka".
Despite being a small-batch product, it is not sold as a luxury item, and in the United States, it sells for around $20 per bottle, making it a good value for money. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to buy Lake Vodka in China.
