Manakamana Nepali Restaurant - Reviews

Located near Temple Street in Jordan, Hong Kong, Mona Nepal Restaurant specializes in Indian and Nepalese cuisine. The store is not large, and the environment and facilities in the store are no different from those of Hong Kong-style tea restaurants, the only difference is that there is a strong curry flavor. Nepal is located beneath the Himalayas and borders China, and the cuisine is bound to have some Chinese and Indian flavors.

All foreigners in the store are accustomed to order a cup of Lassi, an Indian cheese from North India, which is made of cheese, smoothies and spices, and according to the taste of the smoothie, Lassi is divided into three flavors: sweet, salty and fruity. We recommend the fruit-flavored Lassi, which instantly strikes with a refreshing feeling in the summer and eliminates the heat immediately. Nepalese cuisine is a niche cuisine, so if you don't know much about it, don't order rashly. MOMO (chicken dumplings) are a must-order dish for every table, and they look like Chinese dumplings in appearance, but they are slightly larger. Dumplings are mainly steamed and fried, and they are eaten with the restaurant's homemade red hot and sour sauce, which has a decent taste and is no different from Chinese dumplings.

In contrast, the panipuri (Indian fried balls) is more distinctive, a snack featured in the Indian film "Wrestling Daddy", which is made up of deep-fried, hollow crispy balls filled with potatoes and chickpeas, sometimes topped with onions, tomatoes, etc., and topped with a sauce of coriander, tamarind, chilli, lemon juice and brown sugar. According to the habits of life, so many things must be difficult to taste when put together, which is not the case. The sauce is sweet and sour and has a crispy texture that is both cool and appetizing, and is worth trying.

The signature dish is Chilli Chicken, which is cooked red in a spicy sauce with spices and served with lemon juice squeezed on top of the chicken. The chicken tastes very flavorful, with a lemony aroma and a sour and spicy taste.

The waiters and chefs in the restaurant are all Indian and Nepalese, and the dishes are naturally authentic enough, but the language communication is not too smooth, and the service attitude is acceptable. The menu has a Chinese translation, so you can refer to which one you need when ordering. Authentic Nepalese food needs to be eaten with your right hand, so there won't be too many utensils provided, so please wash your hands before eating.
