Opened in December 2017, the rising star of Hangzhou's high-end Japanese cuisine, Kozuki Kappo is located on the 18th floor of the Hangzhou Friendship Hotel. The restaurant was founded by the original team of Mumuting, a Japanese restaurant that was once well-known in Hangzhou, and the dining environment, ingredients, chefs and other elements have reached a certain level in Hangzhou.
The factors that determine the quality of Japanese food are the ingredients and the chef. The ingredients of Kogetsu Kappo cuisine come from Nagasaki, Japan, and can be delivered to the restaurant in one day from Shanghai at the earliest, and the freshness of the ingredients is acceptable. However, the restaurant is still in the early stage of business, and the flow of ingredients is not high, so it is best to make a reservation in advance if you have special requirements for ingredients. The reason for the Kogetsu Kappo cooking is that the Japanese chef is in charge, and he has a lot of experience in Japanese cuisine, and he specializes in sushi in the store. Some of the dishes come from the kitchen assistant's spoon, and the stability of the production is not good. In addition, there are uneven levels of dishes in the preferential package, and the pictures of the à la carte menu are quite different from the actual dishes, so it is recommended to consult the staff before ordering the seafood in the store on the same day to choose.
The Japanese afternoon tea of Kogetsu kappo cuisine is worth mentioning. Aside from the sweet cake and rich coffee, it is composed of plain matcha, various colors and fruits, and is full of freshness. The freshly made matcha has a fine foam, a tangy tea aroma, and a little bitterness in the mouth after improvement, and the overall smoothness. The water letter cake is crystal clear, and the cherry blossoms are clearly visible, which can be called the face of the lake-moon Japanese afternoon tea. Daifuku is refreshing and not greasy at all. The low-fat ice cream has a moderate sweetness, and the red bean cake is beautifully made and of high quality. During the afternoon tea time when milk tea, coffee and cakes are overflowing, it is a chic choice to experience a Japanese afternoon tea at Lake Moon.
The interior of the Kogetsu Kappo restaurant has a traditional Japanese layout with tatami flooring, and you need to take off your shoes when you enter the restaurant. Although the name of the restaurant is "kappo", the restaurant has both private rooms and a counter, and the use rate of the bar counter is low, which basically deviates from the "kappo" Japanese form of eating while watching the chef cook. As a specialty, the restaurant also offers home-brewed beer. The restaurant is located on the 18th floor, with an unobstructed view of Hangzhou. The slate, gravel, and courtyard scenery renovated from the private room make it the best photo spot in the restaurant. The restaurant's service is mediocre, just like a regular restaurant.
Built in 1987, the Hangzhou Friendship Hotel, where Huyue Kappo is located, is the first Sino-Japanese joint venture international hotel in China, and is currently a four-star hotel. Since then, the Friendship Hotel has gathered the first batch of Japanese restaurants in Hangzhou, and it is the place of enlightenment of Japanese cuisine in Hangzhou. Today, in addition to the Kogetsu Kappo high-end Japanese restaurant, the Friendship Hotel also operates its own low-cost Japanese cuisine such as "Nakagawa Michirakumen", "Senba Okinawa Cuisine", and "Sandonya".
