In 1987, a group of food lovers opened Jumbo Seafood Restaurant on the east coast of Singapore in order to create a place to entertain friends and family. This unintentional move developed rapidly in the following 30 years, becoming a well-known chain restaurant brand.
In 2013, Jumbo Seafood entered the Chinese market and opened its first store in China at IAPM. At present, the brand has four chain branches in Shanghai, its China Golden Center store is positioned as a high-end business restaurant, and the other three are mainly mid-range consumption.
Jumbo Seafood's menu variety, such as oysters and sashimi, which are common in other seafood restaurants, are not often found on the menu, but the restaurant's signature crab series can add a lot of color to the overall menu. Chilli Crab and Black Pepper Crab are both award-winning dishes of Jumbo Seafood, and diners can choose from Dungeness Crab or Blue Crab as the main ingredient in the collection. Dungeness crabs are usually larger, while blue crabs are firmer and fuller. The chili crab is moderately spicy, with a hint of sweetness. The restaurant also served this dish with golden steamed buns, which are dipped in sauce and are equally delicious. Pepper crab has a heavier flavor and is more spicy than the former.
In addition to the crab series, Jumbo Seafood's scallops, razor clams, and shrimp are also of high quality. Fried small green lobster with salted egg yolk is highly recommended. The salted egg yolk is wrapped in oil and wrapped around the shrimp, giving it a golden color and exuding the unique aroma of egg yolk. The outer layer of crispy flour, the inner shrimp meat is delicate, the freshness of the shrimp and the saltiness of the egg yolk are blended with each other, and the overall flavor is rich.
Since several of Jumbo Seafood's stores are located in the mall, there is no need to worry about the dining environment. The overall decoration style of the restaurant is mainly simple and bright, and the spacing between different tables is moderate, so there will be no strong sense of oppression. Located at Raffles City, this Jumbo Seafood has a seafood pool specially embedded in the wall, which has a wonderful viewing effect, and diners will have a wonderful dining experience with shrimp and crabs swimming behind them while sitting against the wall.
