Horiguchi Coffee - Business Reviews

Horiguchi Coffee is a well-known long-established café in Japan, founded in 1990. The founder, Toshihide Horiguchi, is known as "Japan's first specialty coffee person", and he has written best-selling books such as "Introduction to Specialty Coffee", "Coffee Tasting Techniques", and "The Complete Guide to Coffee". Horiguchi Coffee has always insisted on producing high-quality specialty coffee, and at the same time, it has only three stores in Japan. Shanghai Horiguchi Coffee is its only overseas branch, which opened in December 2017, and the Shanghai store is basically 100% replica of the old Japanese store from coffee production to store decoration and service standards.

Horiguchi Coffee says that it is the world of blending, and the nine kinds of HORIGUCHI ORIGINAL BLEND named "No. 1-9" are Horiguchi Coffee's signature products. These nine blends are as good as single origin coffees, and the outstanding flavors are as good as single origin coffees. The strict requirements for the quality of green beans and the timely adjustment of the roasting method of each batch of green beans ensure the stability of the flavor to the greatest extent, so Horiguchi Coffee's high-quality blend breaks the inherent thinking of many people, such as "specialty coffee should be drunk alone" and "blending is a mixture of cheap beans". Horiguchi Coffee's manor items have the sincerity of an independent café, and it has established long-term and solid relationships with coffee estates around the world, so that the top items that are rarely seen in chain brand stores are steadily appearing on Horiguchi's menu.

Dine-in is the best way to experience Horiguchi coffee. The first time you get your hands on the coffee, it's a good start to experience a full cup of pour-over, and as the temperature gradually decreases, the flavor level will change. Order another dessert and pair it with a dark roast coffee that will not only neutralize the bitterness, but also accentuate the aromas of the rest of the world. The Japanese Arita ware coffee cups used in the store are gorgeous in color and pattern, and the style is varied, and there are no duplicates. Horiguchi Coffee Shanghai is located on the first floor of the BWCA building, and the store decoration is integrated with the modern literary and artistic temperament of the whole street, with a retro and elegant environment and scattered tables without affecting privacy. The service level is not the same as that of ordinary chain and independent cafes, and the service experience is excellent if you maintain enough patience when ordering, make timely recommendations, remind you to be tactful and in place, and refill the water in time.

It should be noted that the Shanghai store currently only sells coffee and desserts, and the coffee beans in the store are only for personal use and display, and are not sold for the time being.
