Ferry Pavilion-Merchant Reviews

Located in the central area of Futian, the restaurant has an excellent landscape terrace, and the restaurant turns the terrace into a courtyard with rockeries, green plants, small bridges, and flowing water, aiming to create a restaurant atmosphere of "big hidden in the city", which is also one of the most obvious selling points of the Ferry Pavilion. Officially opened in April 2017, the restaurant is staffed by Hong Kong chefs and serves Japanese cuisine such as washaki, teppanyaki and robatayaki.

Just as Beijing Japanese cuisine likes to use the word "cut-and-cook" to enhance its style, Shenzhen Japanese cuisine prefers the word "ritai". However, "kappo" and "ryotei" are not synonymous with top-notch Japanese food, the so-called "ryotei" refers to the chef in the kitchen and then serves it to the guests, while the opposite "kappo" describes the form of dining where you can sit directly in front of the kitchen and see the chef's cooking. The restaurant is a Japanese restaurant with a good environment, which can meet the preferences of Shenzhen diners for Japanese decoration and elegant atmosphere, and it is not recommended to look at this restaurant with the eyes of top Japanese food.

Watarai Ryotei offers a wide range of Japanese food, including sashimi, sushi, teppanyaki, and robatayaki. There is a large Japanese oven with a length of 1.2 meters, which can only be moved by several people. The oven has two layers, which can bake different foods at the same time, and the instant temperature of the oven can reach 1200 degrees, which is a great test of the chef's skill in heat control. Diners can choose the Robatayaki bar location, which is ready to grill and eat, making the dining experience unique. In addition, there are also top-quality fresh ingredients in the Watarai Restaurant, and there are three options for sashimi platter: assorted sashimi, high-level sashimi, and specially selected sashimi.

In the Futian CBD area, it is rare to have such a Japanese restaurant with a quiet environment, and the per capita catering consumption of about 500 yuan is the most cost-effective in the central business district of Shenzhen. The service of the restaurant is also very Japanese, with slippers and greetings. The overall dining experience was good.

Watarai Pavilion - Recommended dishes

Sashimi platter
The sashimi in the Watarai Pavilion is fresh enough and the variety is very rich, so how can you eat Japanese food without sashimi.

Shioyaki Kichiji
Known as Kichiji in Japan, the meat is very tender, and salt-grilled fish is the best way to cook it, with a crispy skin and tender meat, fat but not greasy, and an endless aftertaste.

Hairy crab
A plate of delicious crab meat can be obtained by simply steaming, and its meat is firm and eaten with seafood vinegar, which is appetizing and sweet.
