Provence is rich in rosé wines, and Château Ott is a traditional local winery. Château Ott is made up of three estates: Château de Selle, Clos Mireille in the Côte de Provence appellation and Château Romassan in the Bandol appellation. In 2004, Château Ott was acquired by Louis Roederer Champagne.
In 1912, the founder, Marcel Ott, acquired the first estate, Château de Selle, which was half of the soil with olive groves, mulberry trees and lavender, and the other half was a vineyard with Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and other grapes, with an average age of 19 years. Clos Mireille (Marie Garden) is the second estate to join the Ott family, and it has the unique geographical advantage of being close to the Mediterranean Sea, where the unique climate and sea mist create a unique terroir for the grapes.
Sly Garden and Marie Garden are both classified Cru Cru in the Côte de Provence appellation, and both produce rosé wines. Srizo Rosé is a blend of various grape varieties from the Côte de Provence appellation, including Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdret, with intense citrus and floral aromas, a smooth palate and a long finish. Marie Garden Rosé is the product of 60% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 12% Syrah, 8% Houl, with an evocative maritime flavor.
Château Romassan is a special one, located in the Pontole appellation and influenced by the Bondol terroir: the sun is intense, with more than 3,000 hours of sunshine a year; The soil is mainly limestone, covered with sandstone and gravel, rich in calcareous and highly drainable. The rosé wine of Roma Garden is dominated by the local late-maturing variety Mourvère, accounting for 60%, and with conventional varieties such as Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah, the taste is clean and refreshing, and the layers are rich.
BY. OTT is the youngest rosé of the Ultra family, a blend of grapes from Sli Garden and Mary Garden, including Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, Grenache builds its round structure, Cinsault gives it a silky taste, the overall aroma of apricot and grapefruit, smooth and crisp taste, simple flavor, and only $25, which is equivalent to half the price of the above three, is an excellent entry-level rosé wine.
It is a pity that the domestic rosé wine market is still in a fairly early stage, and even a famous rosé such as Ott Winery is also difficult to find in China.
