Founded in 1776 and headquartered in Reims, France, Roiserer produces 3.5 million bottles of champagne a year.
Roiserer Louis was forward-thinking in her control of grape resources. In 1845, the estate bought 15 hectares of vineyards in the Grand Cru of Verzenay, and since then all of Louis' champagnes have been made from their own grapes, in contrast to the usual practice of other Champagne merchants buying farmers' grapes. However, today's Louis Roederne has a high yield, and her own grapes can only meet 3/4 of the production, and the rest still depends on cooperative farmers. Louis chose plots according to the style of the product, and the vineyards now cover 240 hectares, with a total of more than 400 plots.
In order to meet the requirements of Tsar Alexander II at the time, Louis invented a crystal champagne with a transparent body to enjoy the color and rich bubbles of the wine; In order to prevent the Assassins from hiding explosives, the Tsar also required the bottom of the bottle to be flat and free of grooves. Although the precious crystal champagne did not make it to Alexander II's table, it was eventually purchased by a South American drinker. AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 20TH CENTURY, THE CHAMPAGNE WAS REMASTERED BY ROISERER REINERCE AND PRODUCED IN LIMITED QUANTITIES, BECOMING THE HOUSE'S TOP CUVÉE, CRISTAL.
COMPARED TO THE CRYSTAL CHAMPAGNE THAT WAS RESERVED FOR THE TSAR A HUNDRED YEARS AGO, TODAY'S CRISTAL RETAINS THE APPEARANCE OF MORE THAN 100 YEARS AGO, AND THE MATERIAL OF THE DECANTER HAS CHANGED FROM CRYSTAL TO THICK GLASS. Louis Roeder CRISTAL is only made in the best vintages, from the estate's own grapes, with a grape mix of 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir; 1/4 of the wine is fermented in oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel barrels; After blending, it will be aged for 6 years, and then bottled for 8 months after spitting out the mud before it can be marketed. WIDELY REGARDED AS ONE OF THE WORLD'S GREATEST CHAMPAGNES, THE LOUIS ROEDER CRISTAL CAN BE STORED FOR 20 YEARS, AND HAS SHOWN EXTRAORDINARY APPEAL ON THE SECONDARY WINE MARKET, LEADING THE ATTENTION OF COUNTLESS COLLECTORS.
EVEN RARER THAN CRISTAL IS CRISTAL ROSÉ CRYSTAL ROSÉ, A ROSÉ CHAMPAGNE THAT IS EXTREMELY DEMANDING AND IS ONLY MADE IN PERFECTLY RIPE YEARS WHEN PINOT NOIR IS PERFECTLY RIPENED. Louis Roeder's Rosé Champagne has a similar grape mix to Circhta, and Pinot Noir is cold macerated with the skin and then used the saignée (bloodletting) process to obtain a beautiful pink color, which is especially suitable for commemorative occasions.
BRUT PREMIER IS LOUIS' ENTRY-LEVEL PRODUCT FOR LOUIS ROEDER, WITH A CONSISTENT QUALITY FOR EVERYDAY SIPPING. It is made from a combination of approximately 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier, aged for three years, and bottled for six months before being released. CARTE BLANCHE SEMI-DRY CHAMPAGNE HAS A SIMILAR PROPORTION TO THE FIRST LOW-SWEETNESS CHAMPAGNE, BUT WITH A HIGHER REHYDRATION VOLUME, MORE SUGAR AND A SLIGHTLY SWEETER TASTE.
