Strictly speaking, Imabari towels are not an independent brand, but generally refer to towels made in Imabari City, Shikoku region, Japan. Today, there are more than 100 companies engaged in towel production and related industries in Imabari City, and in order to promote the standardization of the development of the towel industry in the Imabari area, the Imabari Towel Industry Association (Shikoku Towel Industry Union), established in 1952, has established strict towel testing standards.
 
The Imabari region is able to produce high-quality towels because of the region's unique natural environment. The region has a warm climate and abundant water resources, and Imabari towels are made from the water flowing down from Mt. Takasho to the bottom of the Sosha River. Cotton fibers are bleached and dyed by high-quality water with low heavy metals and hardness components, and then after sun exposure, the yarn made is slender and shiny, and the towel products feel soft and bright.
 
In addition to processing cotton fibers using high-quality water sources, in the process of yarn weaving, Imabari towels mostly use weak twist or no twist process, forming a small gap between cotton fibers, thus creating a fluffy and soft touch, and the towels made are dense and fluffy, and can effectively improve water absorption. As a result, Imabari towel products have excellent water absorption. The first of the standards set by the Shikoku Towel Industry Union is that "the time required for the towel sheets to begin sinking in the water (sedimentation method) should be kept within 5 seconds." In addition, unlike the thickness of towels from European and American brands, Imabari towels are relatively light and thin, which is in line with the washing habits of Asians who use towels after wetting them, and they are also easy to take and use outside.
 
Imabari towels are the most popular because of their simple design, pure white styles, and soft touches that are reminiscent of fluffy white clouds, as well as a number of traditional Japanese styles such as cherry blossoms and ocean breeze. The packaging is also very high-end, there are many gift box packaging, and the gift is very decent.
 
In terms of pricing, due to the large number of manufacturers of Imabari towels, the price of the products is slightly different, and the unit price of the general towel is about 100 yuan, and the price of the bath towel is about 300 yuan. However, at present, there is no official purchase channel for Imabari towels in China, and consumers need to shop overseas or seek to purchase on their own.
