Callus Cocoon is a retro collection point in China, bringing together vintage clothes, Western food, bars, handicraft studios, etc., with stores in Beijing, Dalian, Seattle and Nanjing. At the beginning of 2018, BIBLE CLUB settled in Callus and was built as a retro industrial style Speakeasy bar, paying homage to the speakeasy culture of the Prohibition era in the United States in the twenties. The bar is located in the depths of the Callus shop, and you need to ring the bell to enter the pub through a mirrored corridor called the "Time Tunnel".
The tavern is spacious and has a world of difference. The red brick wine wall looks rough and full of tension, all the tables, chairs and furnishings are found in the retro market, and the wine cabinet with mirrors and the "THEATRE" sign have all traveled from the United States to Nanjing, which has become the finishing touch to the decoration of BIBLE CLUB. The owner's attention to detail to reflect the Speakeasy-style bar, such as the wine wall, overhead canoe, wine cabinet and "THEATRE" signage, each with its own story, together shows the history of alcohol prohibition and smuggling in the United States in the twenties. There is also a small performance stage in the bar, and there are often magic shows and singing and dancing performances, and most of the songs and dances are mainly jazz Broadway-style performances, and the performances are gorgeous and fragrant, and they are pleasing to the eye. The retro and exquisite decoration and unrestrained and wonderful performances give BIBLE CLUB a unique charm, making it unique in style and attracting countless drinkers who love vintage culture.
BIBLE CLUB invited Chris Xi, the runner-up of the 2013 World Class Bartending Masters Tournament in China, as the in-store wine consultant to provide advice on the design of the wine list. Chris Xi specializes in the development of molecular cocktails that transform liquids into bubbles, which can be used as a visual accent for cocktails and enrich the taste of cocktails. Chris Xi also specializes in Japanese classical cocktails and British mixology, and innovates on Japanese and British mixology. For example, SMOKE 2000 is based on Sloe Gin, kelp, and egg whites, resulting in a variety of layers. Snacks such as Iliban ham, sausage set, and french fries and chicken wings are also available, which go well with cocktails.
The waiters at BIBLE CLUB do not have uniform clothing, but the style is mainly a suit shirt with an apron, which looks casual and retro. The service in the store is warm and in place, the staff is patient and professional, and they are well versed in all kinds of wines, and will recommend different wines according to the needs and specific conditions of customers.
