Zaba is a veteran bistro in Nanjing's 1912 block, which opened in 2005 and is Nanjing's first whisky cocktail bar. Its opening opened the door to a new world for Nanjing bars, which can be called the originator of Nanjing whisky boutique bars. The owner, Shunji Matsui, is from Japan, and introduced the Japanese bar style to Nanjing, which also influenced many Japanese bars such as Ben's Cocktail.
Seats有一百多款存酒，酒种虽不如THE BOTTLE BAR、PLUTO等酒吧丰富，但鸡尾酒出品佳。老板松井俊次同时担任着调酒师的工作，擅长调制Moscow Mule、Old Fashioned、Gin & Tonic、Manhattan等经典鸡尾酒。松井俊次对与调酒有关的工作要求近乎苛刻，追求细节，摇和或搅拌鸡尾酒的方式与次数都必须严格按照配方进行操作，对手凿冰的应用有所讲究，连酒保的服装都统一为白衬衫、黑马甲，调酒一事变得仪式感十足。
The restaurant also offers curry rice and sausage platters that go well with sake. Salty German sausages add a new pleasure to wine tasting, or cold or throaty cocktails reduce the oiliness of the sausages and match the palate. The Japanese curry rice tastes authentic, and the potatoes are chopped small to prevent choking or overburdening the stomach, and you can also see that Matsui Shunji is careful.
The bar is located on the second floor of the 1912 business district, and the location is relatively secluded. The bar has a small façade with an orange sign hanging above the door. The interior of the restaurant is similar to that of an old-fashioned Japanese bar, with a pink and black décor on the walls and sofa seats. Pink leather sofas may seem cliché these days, but a full-sided Japanese wooden sake cabinet filled with sake saves a lot of points for the store's environment. The bar's attentive service and the bartenders' just the right amount of warmth make guests feel at home, and the human touch is the unique charm of the restaurant, and it is also another important reason why the bar has been able to operate in a low-key manner for more than ten years.
