Le Soleil - Merchant Reviews

Le Soleil is one of the few hotel-style Vietnamese restaurants in Hong Kong, and it is a well-deserved "Vietnamese aristocrat" compared to most of the city's humble Southeast Asian restaurants. Located in the Sky Garden of The Royal Garden, Le Soleil serves exquisite Vietnamese cuisine in the elegant setting of Fine Dining, a quintessential "eating environment" restaurant.

Le Soleil, located in the United States, has been open for more than 10 years and has been recommended as the most stylish Vietnamese restaurant by the official travel publications of San Francisco. The head chef of the restaurant was invited to join the Commandeur Membership by the International King of Chefs in France and was awarded the Commandeur Membership Medal. In addition to traditional Vietnamese cuisine, the restaurant also incorporates innovative French Vietnamese dishes to the tastes of Hong Kong people, and is one of the representatives of new Vietnamese cuisine.

The menu of the restaurant is categorized according to the dishes of Fine Dining, that is, there are appetizers, salads, and main dishes. The first dish is a signature crispy Saigon spring roll, which is thinly crusted and fried until crispy and non-oily, and served with lettuce to wrap and eat. Another Vietnamese steamed noodle bun has a thin rice skin like cicada wings, smooth in the mouth, wrapped in a plump filling that is half vegetarian and half meat, and the flavor is better when dipped in fish sauce. In addition, there are Vietnamese specialty cuttlefish cakes, roast pork neck with sauerkraut and lemon noodles, Annam roast beef with seaside, embankment cane shrimp, Vietnamese dry lo noodles and minced lettuce buns, etc., which are exquisitely presented and the portion is small.

The salad and soup are filled with seafood salad with scallops, squid, and shrimp, and are served with juicy pomelo meat. Another coconut clam soup is also full of umami. The most recommended main course is the crispy beef brisket curry, boiled prawns with clay pot vermicelli, stir-fried Vietnamese crab curry and Boston lobster, all of which are the signature dishes of the new Vietnamese restaurant. Soup and noodle rice, which is indispensable in Vietnamese restaurants, is not exempt from the high-end Le Soleil. Vietnamese raw beef, beef tendon soup Phnom Penh noodles barely passed, the disadvantage is that the soup base is not hot enough, and the fragrance cannot be exuded. In addition, there are Vietnamese fried black vermicelli, seafood and tomato soup rice noodles, raw crab fried rice, etc., which are relatively rich.

Located on the 3rd floor of The Royal Garden, the restaurant overlooks the verdant landscape of the Sky Garden and the fountain, and the interior is high-end and elegant, with wide spacing between adjacent tables to ensure privacy, and the overall environment is much more comfortable than a street restaurant. The restaurant also has a professional service level that matches the hotel, and the service is meticulous and in place, among which the manager level is more professional, and will take the initiative to ask diners for their dining opinions, which is very intimate. In general, Le Soleil is about 50% more expensive than the Volkswagen Southeast Asian restaurant, and the products are passable, but the cost performance is not high, and it is more recommended for diners who are looking for a high-end dining environment and service.
