In 2017, the world-renowned French food event "Good Taste France" was selected as one of the two French Western restaurants in Guangzhou, and Sanxi French Restaurant occupied one of the seats. Opened in 2015, Sanxi French Restaurant was initially staffed by experienced foreign chefs, and since 2016, Yu Mingye, a well-known chef in China, has served as the head chef of the restaurant. Yu studied under Chef Michel Richard at Citronelle in the United States, and has served a variety of fine dining restaurants and private clubs in China and abroad. There are many dishes in Sanxi, and each one is very good-looking, and even a little dazzling, and I can't pick out the special dishes. The steak variety and method of the set menu is relatively simple, but the variety of dishes can fully make up for it. The menu changes from time to time, so it's wise to order seasonal ingredients, such as the seasonal matsutake set in July, matsutake clear soup, matsutake salad with ham, matsutake mushroom rice, and even if you don't have steak or foie gras, the experience is just as good. The location and environment of the restaurant have characteristics that most Western restaurants do not have. It is located in the Zinitang Art Park in Shawan Town, far away from the city, which was formerly a large state-owned sugar factory, and now the abandoned sugar factory has become a gathering place for young people. Sanxi Restaurant is located in the old factory, and old things such as reinforced concrete have been transformed and used to become restaurant decorations, coupled with creative murals, which is quite artistic. The space of the restaurant is very large, and it has functions such as music performances and art exhibitions. Bands perform almost every month, and some of them are well-known in France. You can hear the live performance of French love pop songs known as French chanson, and it is difficult to find a few such western restaurants in Guangzhou. There are often some international photography exhibitions in the art exhibition area, and recently the Sanxi Wine and Dining and Sanxi Study have been opened. A restaurant like Sanxi, where you can experience a variety of aspects, is worth a visit. Since the restaurant often hosts some events, it is best to ask for reservations before going. The only thing that is not very convenient for the restaurant is the transportation, so it is recommended to plan the itinerary in advance.
