Procter & Gamble dominated the North American diaper market for a time until Kimberly-Clark entered the diaper space. In 1978, Kimberly-Clark launched the Curious Diaper, which now occupies more than 40% of China's market share together with Kao, Pampers and Dawang. Its global sales reached $6 billion in 2016.
There are many versions of curious diapers, among which the Korean version, the Hong Kong version, and the mainland version are all produced in the Daejeon factory in South Korea, and the American version is produced in the United States. The Korean version of Curiosity mainly emphasizes the safety of the raw materials used, and at the same time, the design focuses on male and female babies. The Hong Kong version of Curiosity has a unique three-dimensional leak-proof bag at the back waist and a leak-proof partition for leg circumference, and the leak-proof design is the most prominent. The American version of Curiosity is the most absorbent, and its core structure is slightly different, which is to pump granular SAP into the fluff pulp, while the other three versions use relatively flat absorbent paper or absorbent film.
Before 2013, the mainland version of the curiosity only had two series: silver and gold, of which silver was affordable but hard to the touch, and gold was mainly thin and comfortable. The platinum and heart diamond series launched later, both in price and performance, have been improved, and it is more worth recommending.
The cotton fibres used in the platinum series are softer than those in the gold series. Although the gold package has a three-dimensional protective perimeter anti-leakage design, but the baby has loose stools when it is still impossible to prevent it, platinum has increased the anti-side leakage pocket, which can prevent the side leakage of the back, and the price of a single piece is 1-5 yuan. The continental version of the curious diaper adopts the "5D non-core design", which bonds the non-woven fabric, absorbent paper or absorbent film layer by layer, and then mixes SAP, the principle is similar to the current third-generation composite core, and the biggest feature is that it is light and thin, smooth after water absorption, and not easy to break down. The overall performance of the curious diapers, which are skin-friendly, light and breathable, is remarkable, but compared with the king, the water absorption is slightly inferior, and there will still be seepage and not dry enough. The three-dimensional embossing of the surface layer of Dawang diapers is densely distributed, and the curiosity is excessive in the pursuit of air, the embossing is large and convex, and the water-locking ability is weaker.
For the comfort of wearing, the Curious diaper adopts a narrow crotch design, the version is narrow, and the three-dimensional circumference is better than nothing, and it seems that the side leakage prevention is not taken into account. At present, the Hong Kong version, Korean version and American version are more difficult to buy, and can only be purchased through purchasing agents, direct mail from overseas websites or local mother and baby stores. The mainland version of Curiosity has the largest sales in China, and it is sold in major shopping malls or e-commerce platforms, which is the most convenient.
