Founded in 1914, E.Marinella was originally a small shop with an area of only more than 20 square meters by the sea in Naples, southern Italy, providing customers with British popular goods and providing customized ties, and today it has become the most prestigious handmade tie custom brand in Italy and even in the world.
Unlike Stefano Ricci's extreme luxury, E.Marinella is heavily influenced by English style and combines Neapolitan playfulness with a delicate balance between solemn elegance and elegance. The English tie likes stripes, checks, and dull colors, while the E.Marinella tie is dominated by polka dots and full-print small patterns, with a low brightness background color with delicate small patterns, which will not be too fancy to steal the limelight of the clothing, and reflects the importance of matching details. The tie is often regarded as a label of character, and E.Marinella's unique design style is also loved by politicians, and has been used as a national gift by the Italian president many times, and foreign presidents such as Clinton, Bush Sr., Sarkozy, and Mitterrand are his loyal customers.
E.Marinella's fabrics have always been sourced from the UK and printed by hand using a traditional British printing process, with the fabric going through two main steps: dyeing the base color and printing the pattern. Wait until the dye is completely absorbed by the fabric, and after manual inspection to ensure that every pattern is clearly visible, it can be shipped.
The ornate and intricate seven-fold tie is the representative product of E.Marinella. As the name suggests, a seven-fold tie is a tie made by folding the same cloth 7 times, which has the characteristics of softness, lightness, and flowing drape, and can make a very beautiful tie knot. The seven-fold tie is made entirely by hand sewn from a single piece of fabric, and the fabric is cut diagonally at 45° according to the textile texture, maintaining the balance of the tie's shape with the stretch of the fiber itself. The square fabric is folded inward seven times to increase the thickness and firmness of the tie. E.Marinella added a fleece lining reinforcement to the fabric where the tie knot is located, so that the tie knot will not loosen or slip off easily, so that it can still maintain its beautiful shape under more pressure and wear, although the traditional seven-fold tie does not advocate the addition of lining, but this greatly increases the practicality of the tie. Compared with traditional ties, to achieve the same width, seven-fold ties require nearly 10 times the production time, consume double the fabric, and the requirements for craftsmanship are very high, so the price is also more expensive than traditional ties.
At present, E.Marinella is only sold in offline boutiques, and only one boutique has opened in Shanghai in China. An E.Marinella tie costs about 180 euros.
