Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. is a joint venture between SAIC Motor and Volkswagen Group, with a 50% investment in each.

Shanghai Volkswagen is headquartered in Anting, Shanghai, and has established production bases in Nanjing, Yizheng, Urumqi, Ningbo, Changsha and other places.

Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd., a Sino-German joint venture, was established in March 1985 as a joint venture between SAIC and Volkswagen Group. The company is headquartered in Anting, Shanghai, and has established production bases in Nanjing, Yizheng, Urumqi, Ningbo, Changsha and other places.

As one of the oldest automobile joint ventures in China, Shanghai Volkswagen has taken the lead in carrying out vigorous exploration and beneficial practice in independent research and development and technological innovation, not only cultivating an efficient and high-quality development team, but also establishing a fully functional and internationally level technology development center. WILL BE RENAMED SAIC VOLKSWAGEN AUTOMOTIVE COMPANY LIMITED (SAIC VOLKSWAGEN FOR SHORT) WITH EFFECT FROM DECEMBER 7, 2015

FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd

FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as FAW-Volkswagen) was established on February 6, 1991, and is a large-scale passenger car manufacturer jointly operated by China FAW Group Corporation, Volkswagen AG, Audi AG and Volkswagen (China) Investment Co., Ltd.

After 23 years of development, FAW-Volkswagen has three bases in Changchun in Northeast China, Chengdu in Southwest China and Foshan in South China, and has seven professional production plants, including Car Factory No. 1, Car Factory No. 2, Car Factory No. 3, Car Factory No. 4, Engine Transmission Factory, Chengdu Engine Factory and Stamping Center.

From one brand and one product at the beginning of the establishment of the factory, it has developed into 10 series of products of Audi and Volkswagen - Audi A6L, Audi Q5, Audi A4L, Audi Q3, Magotan, CC, Suteng, Bora, Golf and Jetta sedan, each product is the leading product in its market segment in terms of performance and sales. FAW-Volkswagen has become a mature manufacturer of A, B and C passenger cars in China. In 2013, FAW-Volkswagen launched a number of products to the market, such as Jetta, Audi Q3, new Q5, CC and Golf A7, which were sought after by users when they were launched, and the products have been in short supply.
