Kanebo has a history of more than 100 years. Founded in 1887 as a cotton trader, it later added silk manufacturing and export business and developed into a textile enterprise. In 1936, the first high-end silk soap, Savon de Soie, was introduced by applying the silk technology that he had cultivated over a long period of time to cosmetics. The following year, he officially entered the cosmetics industry.

Kanebo is now the second-largest cosmetics company in Japan. Its extensive skincare and beauty brands are available in Asia, Europe and the Americas through various sales channels, and are sold in more than 50 countries and regions around the world.
