Taittinger brand introduction

Taittingzhe logo

The French Taittinger Champagne Company, founded in 1734, is an ancient French champagne brand, a Champagne house with a very long history in the Champagne region, and its Piaget series of champagnes is quite famous

Champagne Taittinger was founded in 1734 by Jacques Fourneaux. In 1932, the land, along with an old château built in the 13th century, was bought by Pierre Tytingje, an officer who had fought in the First World War and named the estate after him. Later, Pierre applied his skills on the battlefield to the operation of the chateau and gradually established the "Champagne Kingdom" of Titin Zhe.

Since 1973, the estate has been offering Collections de Maitres. The shape of the bottle is not unusual, but there is an extra layer of plastic sleeve on the outside of the bottle. Each year, the estate invites an artist to design the plastic cover, and some of the most prestigious contemporary artists such as surrealist painter Andre Masson, Hungarian artist Victor Vasarely and Roy Lichtenstein, the father of American pop art, have painted the champagne for Taittingje. This is the art of Taittinger Champagne.

The collection began in the 80s, when Claude Taittinger, the head of the company at the time, tasted some vintage champagnes and realized that the artistic pleasure of good champagne is endless, and an artistic initiative beyond champagne was born: Claude wanted to tailor the colourful coats of these good vintages to match the artistic temperament they exude. This is how the Champagne Collection Champagne from the Taittingje Collection was born. The standard 750ml bottle of Champagne is encased in a coat specially designed by renowned contemporary artists for this vintage, thus creating a beautiful link between the two different worlds of painting and champagne.

The "Artist's Collection" color coat is from 1983, and has launched more than 10 vintages of wine, and more than a dozen artists have designed and painted it, among which the 1998 vintage champagne, whose artistic coat is the work of the French-Chinese art master Mr. Zao Wou-ki, is only sold for 5,000 bottles, which is very expensive. In fact, the number of wines produced in this series is limited, only 100,000 bottles per year. In August 1981, the wedding wine of Prince Charles and Princess Diana of the United Kingdom was made from the 1973 vintage.
