KRUG Cook brand introduction

KRUG Cook logo

Moët Hennessy Diageo (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., KRUG Cook, one of the top ten brands of champagne, founded in 1843, is a subsidiary of the French LVMH group and the designated champagne of the British Palace Banquet, using only the finest grape juice as raw materials, and the wine quality is exquisite and delicate

Compared to Krug, all the champagne houses are dwarfed, and it can be called the "Rolls-Royce" among them. As LVMH President Arnault said, "I want only the best." This is probably the best explanation for LVMH's acquisition of Krug.

As one of the top champagne brands, Cook produces very little each year, using only the finest grape juice. Cook and Veuve Clicquot belong to the same group of Louis Vuitton Hennessy (LVMH), but their styles are completely different. Cook's vineyards and cellar doors are very mini. "Cook was positioned at the top end from the beginning, we didn't want to have a lot of market, and we never did a lot of publicity. But we believe that once a customer tries Cruch Champagne, he becomes a loyal customer", "never pretends to be an expert because of the admiration of the market, everyone has their own experience, just a different enjoyment and not a better one" "Happiness, that's all!" This is all Cook's faith.

From Hemingway to Aristotle, from Gabrielle Chanel to Gioni Agnelli, from Callas Maria to Yves Montander, countless legends have seen the tasting of Champagne from Cook as an adventure, a revelation, an inspiring encounter. In the rich, complex flavours of Cook Champagne, they feel pure and perfect.

The legend of Krug began in 1843 when a "restless" man, Johann-Joseph Krug, gave up the privileges of a famous Champagne house in pursuit of an original style of champagne and founded his own house, Cook. Although there were thorns along the way, John Joseph Cook persevered and achieved what he is today. Krug's rich taste and varied aroma have made many champagne houses in the same industry and even the same group bow down. Its greatest characteristic is the richness and balance of tastes, which are both soft and textured, powerful and full of aftertaste, and can be called the cognac of champagne. Champagne is generally not older than 20 years, and Krug is one of the few varieties that can be aged for more than 50 years.

The Champagne region is already considered to be the best wine-producing region in France, and its grape quality even exceeds that of Bordeaux, and Krug uses a unique Multi-Vintage (a blend) to produce Grand Cuvée champagnes in order to achieve full-bodied tastes. A selection of blends of over 50 different wines from 6-10 vintages. Krug's VindeVintage, which is made from blends of different vintages, has a total storage capacity of more than 1 million bottles, and Krug insists on using oak barrels for primary fermentation in order to achieve the perfect taste of the bartender, which is typical of Krug, which is very rare in the Champagne region. For technical reasons, most of the other Champagne wineries use modern techniques in stainless steel barrels, but Krug's unique ageing technique often requires a lot of attention to taste, thus preserving this tradition. It is because of one of the outstanding ageing techniques that Krug has created the myth of the Champagne world——— Krug Collection.

The Krug Collection has long been regarded as the champion of longevity in the world of Champagne, because of its long and complex taste, its attractive aromas, and the fact that it is a vintage champagne that is made only from the best vintages, resulting in a unique taste from one vintage to another, and many of these champagnes must be aged for more than 20 years before they can be marketed (the regular Krug Grand Cuvée has a 6-year marketing requirement). On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the previous president, Henri Krug, Krug even presented the Krug Collection 1928 to his guests, which is unthinkable for a Champagne house: a champagne that has been cellared for more than 70 years!

Krug doesn't just have a little bit of ageing, they are also able to make the most difficult to brew and the most popular rosé champagne for women, Krug Rosé. This is a Krug-style rosé champagne, different from Laurent-Perrier Rosé, Moet Chandon Rosé, it is a peculiar champagne with raspberry, cinnamon and papaya aromas, sweet and elegant taste, fine and long bubbles, very attractive color, maintaining Krug's unique Multi-Vintage style while leaving the same charming PinotNoir characteristics, which are extremely delicious with crab food.

After 1979, Krug also added a Blanc de Blanc (Champagne made entirely from the white wine grape Chardonnay) to his sequence, which is the world-famous Closdu Mesnil, a unique white champagne selected on a very small plot of land. The best chalky soil, old vine and new vine hybrid, Henri Krug bought it and spent eight years preparing the plot and adjusting the quality of the grapes, and then finally in the eighth year he made the world-astonishing Closdu Mesnil——— the most expensive and delicate wine in the Krug family's ordinary vintage sequence, with a combination of orange blossom and white orchid flowers, with a little bit of rough chalky ore, fresh but not lacking in depth.
