History of the company
In 1962, the first Target store was established in Minnesota. The store was the first in the United States to come up with the concept of discounts.
In the 70s, Target improved the efficiency of customer service by managing inventory goods through electronic cash registration of goods in the store, and at the same time, the company began to hold an annual shopping festival for the elderly and disabled.
In the 80's, Target grew in size and opened many more retail stores.
In the 90s, Target established the first Target Greatland store. In 1995, the store was converted into a bridal shop, and in the same year, Target opened its first Target supermarket and launched a credit card service.
In January 2000, Dayton Hudson Corporation (founded in 1962) changed its name to Target Corporation.
