In 1994, Shanghai Agricultural and Industrial Supermarket Corporation was established. In May 2000, it was restructured into "Shanghai Agricultural and Industrial Supermarket Co., Ltd.", and in May 2004, it was renamed as "Agricultural and Industrial Supermarket (Group) Co., Ltd.", and the name of the enterprise group formed with the enterprise as the core was "Agricultural and Industrial Supermarket Group". The founder of the company, Yang Dexin, is currently the chairman of the group.

At present, the agricultural supermarket group is composed of agricultural and industrial supermarket, Haode convenience, Ke convenience, convenient e-commerce, Haode enterprise, Haode logistics, Zhende food, Wuyuan groceries, Haode real estate and chain management training college and other subordinate enterprises. With more than 3,500 stores, more than 45,000 employees, and sales of 30.2 billion yuan in 2011, it is a national large-scale chain enterprise group with multi-format development. According to the 2011 Global Powers of Retail Annual Report (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") jointly released by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (DTTL), a world-renowned market organization, and STORESMedia, Agri-Commercial Supermarket (Group) Co., Ltd. was shortlisted among the top 250 global retail companies. The report also revealed that Agribusiness Supermarket (Group) Co., Ltd. ranked 248th among global retailers in fiscal 2008 and 221st in 2009, ranking 23rd among the top 250 global retailers in terms of compound growth rate.
