Location: Located in Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning Province in northeast China, the college covers a total area of 1.21 million square meters, the main campus is located on the south bank of the Hunhe River across the city, covering an area of about 714,000 square meters, and the snow sports center is built in the southeastern mountainous area of the city, covering an area of about 505,000 square meters.
History of the Academy
In 1954, the Northeast Institute of Physical Education was established, which was organized by the Sports Committee of the Central People's Government and the Northeast People's Government. The site of the school was determined in the area around the former Northeastern University Stadium in Beiling, Shenyang.
In 1955, the Athletic Guidance Department (formerly the Northeast Sports Training Class) was established as a college.
In 1956, it was renamed Shenyang Institute of Physical Education.
In 1958, it was transferred to the leadership of the Liaoning Provincial Government and was supervised by the Liaoning Provincial Sports Committee.
In 1960, the Department of Physical Education and the Department of Physical Education were established. Soon the Department of Physical Education was divided into the college system, but the name of the Department of Physical Education (or the branch of Shenyang Institute of Physical Education) was retained until 1984, becoming the predecessor of Liaoning Provincial Institute of Sports Technology.
In 1963, it was directly managed by the Liaoning Provincial Bureau of Higher Education and guided by the Provincial Sports Commission. In the same year, the provincial Shenyang Sports School was merged into the secondary school.
1966 The Cultural Revolution began, and enrollment was suspended until 1971.
In 1969, it moved to Qingduizi Farm, Beizhen County, Liaoning Province, and moved back to the original site in Shenyang the following year.
In January 1980, it was subordinated to the National Sports Committee; Set up an affiliated athletic school.
In March 2001, the General Administration of Sports of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Liaoning Province jointly established the management system with the Provincial People's Government as the mainstay. The Provincial Sports Bureau and the Department of Education are jointly managed, and the Provincial Sports Bureau is the main management method.
In September 2004, the Baiqingzhai Snow Sports Center of the college was fully completed and put into use.
In December 2006, the college moved to the new campus.

The academic journal Journal of Shenyang University of Physical Education (bimonthly) is a core journal of Chinese sports, a core journal of Chinese humanities and social sciences, and a core journal of the core database (CSA) of Cambridge Scientific Abstracts in the United States.
The college has established exchange relations with more than 20 universities or sports organizations in Japan, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Ukraine, Vietnam, Austria, Australia and other countries. In cooperation with the University of Lille II in France, we carry out two-stage teaching of bachelor's and master's degrees.
