History
Founded in 1929, DECCA Records is the only record label in the British Isles that can rival the century-old EMI. At the end of February 1980, DECCA entered into an alliance with the PolyGram Group and began to focusRecording of classical music. In 1992, Decca's parent company, Polygram International, bought 60 percent of Fumao's shares, along with Fumao RecordsIncorporated into the International Polygram Records Group, the English name of Fumao Records was changed to Decca Records Taiwan Ltd.
In 2001, the agency distribution contracts of Hong Kong Zhengdong Records, New Art Treasure Records and Fumao in Taiwan expired, and their singers Chen Huilin and Xu Zhian were transferred to Shanghua under Universal Music in TaiwanAlbum distribution agency (except for Su Yongkang, who continued to be distributed by Fu Mao in Taiwan), but Fu Mao's singers in Hong Kong still continued to be distributed and promoted by Zheng Dong Records.
In 2002, Mr. Zhang Renfeng and Mr. Zhang Gengyu bought back their 60% equity interest in Fumao from the International Universal Music Group (as Polygram Records had been acquired by Universal in 1998).Shigeru Records is back to being 100% independent, and the English name is changed back to the original Linfair Records Ltd.
