Warner Music Group is one of the world's three major music companies in the 21st century and one of the world's top five music companies in the 20th century. History

In 1929, Warner Bros. founded Music Publishing Co., Ltd. (MPHC) to buy music rights in order to use cheap music for filmmaking. In 1930, he entered the record industry with the purchase of the Brunswick Record Company.

In 1967, Warner Bros. Pictures acquired Atlantic Records, and in 1972, it acquired Elektra Noneusch Records to form Warner-Atlantic-Elektra (WEA). In July 2011, Time Warner sold Warner Music Group to Access Industries.

In July 2013, Warner Music Group acquired EMI's Parlophone Label Group from Universal Music.

In April 2014, Warner Music Group acquired Gold Gale to retain the brand and become a subsidiary.

In 2014, Warner Music Group officially reopened UFO Records as a sub-brand.
