Mi Xun Tea Room - Business Reviews

Afternoon tea and vegetarian meals at Mi Xun Tea Room are often labelled as "exaggerated", but this is not the case.

Taikoo Li is undoubtedly a well-known commercial destination in Chengdu and even southwest China, and in this kind of business district, cafes and dessert shops under the banner of "afternoon tea" have always been the darlings of consumers. In Chengdu, which has a long teahouse culture, Mi Xun Teahouse focuses on afternoon tea and also serves vegetarian food, attracting many trendy men and women to swing the "Longmen Array" (that is, chatting in the teahouse).

Although it is an authentic Sichuan flavor, the presentation at Mi Xun Tea Room is as exquisite as Japanese cuisine. Plain bowls and plates are displayed at the table, and dishes are made with fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, soy products and mushrooms. The menu is not updated as fast as a set meal restaurant, but there is a lot of variety, and it still provides a fresh feeling for guests. For example, in the winter hot pot series, the restaurant uses itself as a tea room to add Pu'er and truffle mushrooms as the soup base, which is a bold innovation for the vegetarian hot pot where clear soup and hot and sour soup pots occupy half of the country. At the same time, braised Roman cauliflower with trumpet mushrooms and sugarcane-soaked rice pancakes have become popular dishes to warm the stomach in winter.

Every time in the scorching heat, rattan pepper bamboo shoots, chilled tomatoes, palace explosion small ingots (mushrooms), osmanthus cake and other dishes are listed in a timely manner, the taste is light and mild, accompanied by clear tea, comfortable and leisurely, making people feel as if they are in the mulberry garden in a corner of Daci Temple, changing the noisy and bustling commercial area. The vegetarian food at Mi Xun Tea Room is not complicated in terms of materials and practices, but it is still worth visiting because the production does not fluctuate much, the contents of the regularly changed set menu are often excellent, and the unique environment is still worth visiting.

Mi Xun Teahouse rents an entire ancient courtyard as a dining area, and the Chinese-style solid wood structure can be seen everywhere under the red walls and green tiles, with a long ancient charm; In the open-air courtyard, the ancient trees in the vicinity merge with the high-rise buildings in the distance, forming a staggered mix of tradition and fashion. In addition to drinks, the other dishes in the Mi Xun Tea Room are served slowly, and the pattern of twists and turns in the courtyard also slows down the service speed, and there are occasional poor service during the period when the passenger flow is large. All purchases are subject to an additional 10% service charge and 6% VAT, which seems to be a no-brainer considering Mi Xun is a restaurant owned by The Temple House.
