Founded in Shanghai in 2001, Zaozi Tree entered the Chengdu market in 2007 and made a name for itself in the burgeoning local vegetarian market at the time, making it one of the oldest vegetarian brands in Chengdu. Compared with the vegetable unbounded created by the same founder, Song Yuanbo, the jujube tree is positioned more close to the people, and it has become a vegetarian memory of a generation of Chengdu people with stable production.
The dishes of the jujube tree are relatively fixed, and several classic dishes have been preserved for many years, including both original vegetarian dishes full of true colors, as well as imitation meat and vegetarian dishes that are difficult to distinguish between real and fake. A classic of the cold dish range, Fei Leng Cui Leng is a blend of coarse mung bean puree and soft yam puree, the former providing a grainy texture and the latter with a delicate texture, the two complement each other and have a refreshing taste. Another sweet and sour short rib is a representative of the store's imitation meat dishes, using lotus root and soy products to simulate the taste of bones and meat, and drizzling with sweet and sour sauce.
Different from stores in other cities, Chengdu Jujube Tree has been improved according to local tastes, adding seasoning, and adding numb and spicy to some dishes to highlight the Sichuan flavor. However, many of the local vegetarian dishes in the store are too oily and greasy, and dishes such as Shangshang, vegetarian dry pot, cumin fragrant pot and other dishes are often full of fat at the end, which is not suitable for vegetarian restaurants that advocate lightness. In order to meet the taste of local diners, the original taste of vegetarian food is sacrificed to a certain extent, which is the disadvantage of the jujube tree.
Chengdu Jujube Tree is located in the Platinum City, a slightly shabby mall that contrasts with the clean and elegant restaurants. The wooden tables and chairs are well placed, and the spacing between the tables is moderate, so that they will not disturb each other during the meal; Cushions are placed on each chair for good comfort. The waiters dressed in uniform white are easy-going and gentle, but they are slow to respond, and their knowledge of the dishes is not high enough, and they are not professional.
