OBELISCO Argentinian Estate - Business Reviews

Argentine Manor is a subsidiary of Beijing Bedic Group, which is currently the only high-end and authentic Argentine national cuisine restaurant in China. At present, there are three stores in China, located in Beijing, Shanghai and Changsha. In 2010, Beijing Argentine Manor was invited to participate in the Shanghai World Expo and opened the Argentine National Restaurant in the Argentine National Pavilion, which was the only designated restaurant for the Argentine Pavilion, establishing its status as an orthodox Argentine restaurant in China. After the end of the World Expo, OBELISCO Argentina Manor invested and built by Beijing Bedic Group settled in Shanghai. Orthodox Argentinian cuisine has injected a dose of fresh blood into exotic restaurants in Shanghai, and the popular domestic TV series "Dear Translator" has also been filmed in the restaurant, adding a lot of popularity to the restaurant.

As a country of immigrants, more than 85% of Argentina's inhabitants are of Italian and Spanish descent, so its food culture is also mixed with ingredients from continental and Western cuisine. In terms of meat, cows, chickens, and donkeys are the main food, and pigs are rarely eaten, and charcoal barbecue meat is a local specialty. Almost every household in Argentina has a barbecue stove, and the president often entertains guests from all over the world with authentic barbecue banquets, so Argentine barbecue has the same distinct national style as French and Italian food. Among the major meats, beef occupies a large part of the Argentine table. Fifty-five percent of Argentina's land area is pasture, and cattle production is high at all times, always maintained in primitive open-air fencing.

At the Argentine estate, beef is naturally a well-deserved signature dish. The restaurant uses Hilton standard quota beef imported from Argentina (95% import rate) as the main ingredient, supplemented by traditional Argentine ingredients, and grilled with fruit charcoal or fruit wood. The restaurant has a wide variety of beef, including beef eye meat, beef tenderloin, beef tenderloin, beef eye steak, bone-in belly meat, etc. The flesh of the eyes is fat and thin, and the fat is plump; The tenderloin is delicate and tender; The outer ridge is firm and chewy. Each piece of beef has a raw game flavor, rich in fiber, full and juicy on the palate, and even more authentic under a simple charcoal grill. It is worth mentioning that the price of a la carte beef in the restaurant is about 400 yuan, which is not cost-effective compared with similar meat restaurants in Shanghai, and the price of choosing a set meal is relatively affordable.

In addition to the grilled meat, the "Empanada", an Argentinian snack on the hot starter, is also worth trying. The shape of the embanada is similar to that of Chinese fried dumplings, with a golden and crispy crust wrapped in rich meat filling, which is crunchy and soft in one bite, and the meat is full of aroma, with a hint of vanilla, appetizing and satisfying. A dish of tuna sauce with tomatoes on a cold dish is quite ingenious. Cut the whole tomato top, fill it with the mashed tuna sauce, and cover the tomato. In this way, a "complete" "tuna tomato" is born, which is spread with fresh vegetables and shredded carrots on the side, and the creative shape and bright red and green combination attract people's eyes, which is refreshing and appetizing to eat. In addition, there are classic beef salad, grilled sausages, grilled lymph and other popular starters with high order rate, interpreting the traditional flavors of Argentinian cuisine.

Another specialty of the restaurant is Argentine yerba mate, known as "fairy grass from South America", which has a drinking history of more than 400 years in Argentina and other South American countries, and is known as the four treasures of Argentina along with football, tango, and barbecue. Yerba mate is slightly astringent at first, similar to the taste of bitter tea. With the addition of sugar and lemon juice, the taste is soft and the aftertaste is endless. The tea leaves are spread all over the cup, and the hot water can be added to continue drinking after drinking, and the taste gradually turns from strong to light, and continues the unique tea fragrance. The teacup is made of wood and has a copper shell on the inside, and the most special thing is the three-in-one copper straw of straw, spoon and filter, which makes people sigh at the intelligence of the Argentine. Diners who want to experience the flavors of Argentina should not miss this classic tea dish.

Argentine wines are also a non-negligible part of the world's wine plates. As the largest wine producer in South America, Argentina has nearly 500 years of winemaking history and is the fifth largest wine producer in the world today. In Argentine food culture, grilled meat with red wine is the quintessential food pairing. THE ARGENTINIAN ESTATE ALSO FOLLOWS THIS PAIRING CONCEPT, IN ADDITION TO OFFERING SPECIAL GRILLED MEATS, THE RESTAURANT'S WINE CELLAR ALSO STORES RED WINES IMPORTED FROM THE ORIGINAL BOTTLES OF THE WORLD'S TOP 100 WINERIES, CATENA ZAPATA, WHERE YOU CAN TASTE THE BEST WINES FROM THE NEW WORLD WITHOUT GOING ABROAD.

Argentine Manor Shanghai Store is located in Building 19, No. 32 Qinhuangdao Road, at the Watergate Wharf of the Expo on the North Bund of the Huangpu River. Its construction area is more than 1,500 square meters, the interior is spacious and elegant, and the decoration reveals a strong South American style. The large screen in the hall will play Argentinian singing and dancing videos, creating a warm and unrestrained exotic atmosphere. The first floor of the restaurant is an individual guest hall, and the second floor is a VIP private room. Outdoors, there are open-air platforms with different orientations such as a river-view garden and a riverside lawn. The riverview garden is elegant and chic, and dining here can take in the scenery of Lujiazui. The waiters in the restaurant are warm and friendly, from bringing guests to sit to ordering, they are more professional, and the service is basically in place. There is a large free car park for more than 200 cars at the manor gate, making it easy to reach by car.
