"Nanwu" is the ancient name of Guangzhou, and Nanwu Middle School is the oldest middle school in Haizhu District, which was founded in 1905. The school is located on the south bank of the Pearl River, next to the thousand-year-old temple Haizhuang Temple, divided into two campuses, north and south, covering an area of 33,000 square meters and a construction area of 37,000 square meters. The Nanbu campus has a quiet environment, ancient trees, and first-class teaching facilities, including a history room, a music room, a psychological counseling room, a general technology room, a biological exploration room, a microgrid classroom and other special rooms, as well as a library with a collection of more than 150,000 books, all classrooms are equipped with multimedia teaching platforms and air conditioning.
From 2014 to 2017, the average score of the high school entrance examination was 660, 658, 651.9 and 650.8 respectively, ranking between 23rd and 30th in the city. Among them, 2 students from Nanwu Middle School entered the top 300 in the city in the 2017 high school entrance examination, 10 students scored 740 points or more, 99 people scored 698 points or more, and 217 people scored 622 points or more.
Every year, Nanbu Junior High School enrolls about 360 students, and each grade has 4 "Jianwu classes". The Sword Wu class is divided into 2 "Big Sword Wu Classes" and 2 "Little Sword Wu Classes", which can be regarded as the key class and sub-key class of the school respectively. The Jianwu class is named after He Jianwu, the second principal of Nanwu Middle School, which adopts a small class of 35 students, equipped with first-class teachers from the school, integrates the high school entrance examination curriculum and infiltrates the international curriculum, strengthens English teaching, and connects the CCAE class of the high school. After completing three years of study, students in the Jianwu class can take both the international curriculum examination and the domestic high school entrance examination, and those with excellent grades will have the opportunity to go directly to the CCAE class in the middle school.
The Jianwu class is open to the whole city, and the best are admitted in advance. There are three ways to enroll in the Jianwu class, submit your resume to the school, get a real-name recommendation from the principal of the primary school, or have a recommendation letter from an excellent primary school training institution. If a student has won the third prize of the National Hua Luogeng Cup Competition, the second prize of the Hope Cup or above during the primary school period, and has won the municipal honorary titles such as "Guangzhou Three Good Students", "Guangzhou Outstanding Student Cadres" and "Guangzhou Outstanding Young Pioneers" in grades 4 to 6, Nanwu will give priority to admission.

Nambu is the first middle school in the country to offer a STEM learning program and the first middle school to try to fully embody the concept of integrated STEM education. Nambu is a day school, with only a small number of dormitory places (about 3) for each grade, and the dormitory is located opposite the high school of the school. Students can take a lunch break or go home at school at noon, and the canteen is only for junior high school students, and students in junior high school and junior high school students need to bring their lunch boxes to school, and the meals will be packed and divided into classes during lunch time. Nambu's management is extremely strict, and the junior high school has a rule that at least 80% of the shoes are white, and if you violate them, you have to go to class barefoot.
