Founded in 2010, Xiuquan Foreign Chinese School is the only full-time public junior high school in Huadu District that features foreign language teaching. In 2013, Xiuwai took the first high school entrance examination, and it ranked first in Huadu District with a total average score of 692 points; From 2014 to 2016, the average scores of the school's high school entrance examination were 696.2, 692 and 691.8 respectively, ranking within the top 20 in the city. In the 2017 high school entrance examination, Xiuwai did not announce its results.

Xiuwai is located near Huadu Stadium, covering an area of more than 60,000 square meters and a construction area of 12,061 square meters. The school has all kinds of teaching facilities, including sports and art building, physics and audio-visual education building, laboratory building, basketball court, track and field field and 400-meter track, and all classrooms have complete teaching equipment and air conditioning.

In terms of enrollment, the number of students enrolled in Xiuwai in 2018 is about 360, and students need to have household registration in Huadu District. The school does not have key classes, and students say that the amount of homework in the first and second stages of junior high school is less than that of other schools, and the third year of junior high school depends on different teachers.

As a foreign Chinese school, Xiuwai focuses on cultivating students' foreign language literacy. In addition to regular English classes, the school also offers oral classes with foreign teachers, and has offered courses in minor languages such as Japanese and Korean. However, students are not interested in small language courses, and the number of students who pass the exam is very small, so it is difficult for them to master a foreign language through the small language courses offered by the school. The series of activities of the cultural festival are the expansion and extension of foreign language classroom teaching, providing a stage for students to learn and use foreign languages, including campus English song contest, calligraphy competition, English quotes, English short essays, movie clip imitation, tabloid creation and essay competition, etc. In addition, English broadcasting, English weekly meetings, and English clubs also make the classroom and extracurricular integration.

The school requires students to "develop in an all-round way", and every student is required to purchase a flute and textbooks after admission, advocating that "everyone can play the flute". Every year, the flute concert is held outside the show, and the all-level (school) ensemble is not only a traditional program, but also one of the biggest highlights. In addition, Xiuwai also formed a straight flute troupe, which has won the second place in Guangzhou.

Xiuwai adopts a day school system and does not have accommodation, so it is not very popular with parents outside the district. However, since 2017, all junior high school students in Xiuwai need accommodation, and the dormitory is located in the old campus of Xiuquan Middle School, which is clean and spacious and air-conditioned. Students can have lunch at school or outside the school at noon, the taste of the school cafeteria meals is relatively average, most students eat outside the school, there are many restaurants near Xiuwai, so you don't have to worry about eating.
