"There is Yangcheng Lake in the south and the Yellow River estuary in the north", which is enough to explain the status of hairy crabs in the Yellow River estuary.
The hairy crab of the Yellow River estuary is a geographical indication product of China's agricultural products, and only the hairy crab produced in Dongying City, Shandong Province can be called the hairy crab of the Yellow River Estuary. Dongying City is also the largest hairy crab production area in the north, with a breeding area of nearly 1 million mu, and together with Liaoning Panjin, it has carried 20% of the country's hairy crab production capacity.
The breeding configuration of hairy crabs in the Yellow River estuary is almost on a par with Gucheng Lake: the city covers the entire delta of the Yellow River estuary, with natural conditions from seedling breeding to adult crab breeding, and one of the three national seed farms in the country is located in Kenli District, Dongying City. Kenli District is also the beginning of the large-scale breeding of hairy crabs in the Yellow River Estuary, and it is a national-level demonstration county for the standardization of Chinese mitten crabs, second only to the Gaochun Chinese mitten crab standardized production comprehensive demonstration area where Gucheng Lake is located.
Due to the high latitude, the hairy crabs in the Yellow River estuary eat less in winter, and the overall individual is small, which naturally has no advantage compared with the Yangtze River hairy crabs above. The Liaohe Panjin hairy crab in the north is smaller, and grows up in the rice field, so it has a strong earthy smell, which is difficult for people who are used to eating the Yangtze River hairy crab. In contrast, the Yellow River estuary hairy crab farmed in ponds can be used as a compromise for northern consumers, replacing the Yangtze River hairy crab, which has to cross half of China to reach the table.
In order to make up for the gap with the hairy crabs of the Yangtze River, Dongying City has joined forces with a number of scientific research units to implement high-standard breeding, and facilities such as roads, bridges, culverts, and water quality monitoring systems are all built by the government. After improving the level of intelligence, the yield and average size per mu of the high-standard breeding area have increased slightly, and 6 taels of male crabs can also be bought on a small scale in the Yellow River estuary.
Selected government high-standard aquaculture aquatic companies include Huize Company, Hengsheng Company, Yellow River Estuary Aquatic Products Company and Shandong Yellow River Estuary Hairy Crab Co., Ltd., they are also Dongying Yellow River Estuary Hairy Crab Association authorized "Yellow River Estuary" trademark users, of which Huize and Hengsheng two have export qualifications, Hengsheng is the exclusive online licensee, buy high-quality Yellow River Estuary hairy crabs to identify the above producers. In addition, Yufeng Aquatic Products and Jingming Marine Technology, which were authorized by the trademark at the beginning of brand building in 2008, are also local leading enterprises.
In general, due to the slow start, the breeding experience of Dongying City is slightly insufficient, the design area of the pond is smaller than that of the Yangtze River pond, and the water quality index is greatly affected by the weather, which is easy to cause hairy crab diseases, and the breeding mode still needs to be improved. The industrial structure of Dongying City is heavy on industry, and the aquaculture conditions are slightly inferior. In the process of brand building, the Yellow River estuary hairy crabs gradually lost their price advantage, and Hengsheng's 4 pairs of gift boxes ranged from 498 to 3998 yuan, which was no different from the Yangtze River hairy crabs. However, in the great wave of crab withdrawal in the south, the Yellow River Estuary can still dominate the northern market with stable production and local advantages.
