How about Rochefort Roosevelt craft beer brand introduction

Recommended wines: Rochefort 10, Rochefort 8

The Belgian abbey of Rochefort, which produces Roosevelt beer, was founded in the 13th century and has been brewing beer here since 1595 just for the monks' daily drinking. After the French Revolution and World War I, the beer brewing of the Rochefort Abbey was forced to stop, but after the Second World War, the same monastery Chimei flourished in beer brewing, while the Rochefort Abbey became increasingly dim, and with the help of the monks of Chimei, they jointly developed the beer recipe that is still used today.

Roosevelt's own yeast, the water source of the well behind the abbey, Pilsner malt and Munich malt, Hallertau and Golding hops, Roosevelt Abbey combined these ingredients to present three beers, 6, 8 and 10, with numbers printed on the quaint and simple wine label, representing different alcohol levels, the higher the number, the higher the alcohol content, the stronger the intensity.

The well-known Luo 10 has been at the top of the list of the best beers on beer review sites such as Ratebeer and BeerAdvocate all year round, and is second only to W12 in Ratebeer's monastic style four-ingredient beer category. Rolo 10 has a dark brown colour with a rich and persistent foam with pronounced caramel and malty aromas. Its alcohol content is 11.3%, and the initial wort concentration reaches 24.5°P, although the alcohol content is high, but the distillery has done a good job in balance, bitterness and sweetness dissolve each other, the alcohol taste is not abrupt, the killing taste is moderate, and the drinkability is strong.

Originally brewed by monks to celebrate Chinese New Year's Eve, Luo 8 became so popular that it was decided to start regular brewing in 1960, and today it is Roosevelt's best-selling beer, accounting for most of the monastery's production capacity. This beer has an alcohol content of 9.2%, and compared with Luo 6, Luo 8 has a slightly more prominent alcohol taste, and the body is thicker, but the aroma and taste are not as rich as Luo 10.

Of the three beers, the Abbey 6 is arguably less popular, the Abbey Twin was the first to be produced by Roosevelt, and is now brewed only once a year, accounting for about 1% of the Abbey's total beer production. Luo 6 has an alcohol content of 7.5%, a light brown color, a rich nose, a caramel aroma in the nose, and a mellow and smooth taste, suitable for beginners and advanced people, even as a daily ration wine.

Abbey beers are fermented in the bottle, and some yeast and sugar are added during bottling, so that the yeast can continue to ferment a second or third time in the bottle, so after opening the bottle, you will notice that the wine is slightly cloudy because of the residual yeast floating in it. When pouring the wine, you can shake the bottle slightly at the end and pour out the yeast from the bottom of the bottle along with the liquor to taste the unique flavor of the yeast.

What is rare is that Roosevelt, as an outstanding abbey beer, can be easily purchased at an affordable price even in China, the price is generally about 20 yuan per bottle, which is extremely cost-effective, and it is definitely worth trying.
