Founded in 1853 by its eponymous founder, Louis Royer, Louis is located on the shores of Lake Charente in the Cognac region of France. In the past, Louis never had his own vineyard and, like Courvoisier, most of the original wines were purchased from wineries in the six regions. In 2012, Louis finally acquired a vineyard in the heart of Grande Champagne.
 
Almost all Louis Royer cognacs are exported, mainly to Asian markets such as Europe, Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Louis entered the Chinese market more than a decade ago, but he did not make much splash in the mainland and was relatively well-known in Hong Kong and Guangdong.

Finished in Limousin oak casks, the Louis Grande X.O is also an outstanding cognac, winning the Best Cognac X.O award at the 2016 World Cognac Awards. Louis Grandeur X.O is housed in a square decanter with a ruby red colour and a rich aroma with intricate aromas of dried fruits, flowers, chocolate and oak, resulting in a delicate and delicate taste with rich layers. This X.O costs less than 1,000 yuan, but the wine quality is outstanding, and it is a good choice for personal use.
