Founded in 1999, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Corporation (stock code: 600150), a listed company under China State Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. Over the past ten years, the company has always adhered to scientific development, steadily moved forward along the goal of marketization, internationalization and modernization, and constantly used data to write a new chapter in the development of the enterprise. Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding & Offshore Co., Ltd. (SWS Offshore) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

SWS Offshore is a leading and world-class large-scale offshore engineering and high-tech ship engineering supporting base built in China in accordance with the overall requirements of Shanghai Municipality on the development of shipbuilding industry and the development of offshore engineering construction, and the development goals of China State Shipbuilding Corporation in the 11th Five-Year Plan. The annual steel output is 255,000 tons. The construction of SWS Offshore began on April 28, 2008, and the first phase of the project is nearing completion. It was officially put into production on April 28, 2010.
