Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd. is a large-scale enterprise group integrating shipbuilding and marine engineering manufacturing, supplemented by financial investment, metal trade, real estate, shipping and ship leasing. The history of the company can be traced back to 1956, when it started as a shipbuilding cooperative, and after a series of developments such as the relocation of the factory in 1975, the shareholding restructuring in 1999, the construction of a new factory across the river in 2005, and the listing in 2007, it is now the first shipbuilding enterprise in China to be listed in Singapore.
The group company has three shipbuilding enterprises, Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipyard Co., Ltd., which are located on both sides of the golden waterway of Jingjiang City and Taixing City in Jiangsu Province in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and are 170 kilometers away from Shanghai and Nanjing. The group has an offshore engineering manufacturing base in Taicang and two ship design companies in Shanghai. At present, the total assets of the group exceed 63 billion yuan, covering an area of 6.3 million square meters, with more than 7,000 meters of quay shoreline and more than 6,000 employees.
The company has three giant dry docks, three large and medium-sized slipways, with an annual shipbuilding production capacity of 6 million deadweight tons, with 1100TEU~14000TEU large and medium-sized container ships, 7600DWT~400000DWT large and medium-sized bulk carriers and various multi-purpose ships and marine engineering equipment manufacturing, large steel structure parts manufacturing and other mainstream products. The company has first-class shipbuilding technology, strong shipbuilding facilities and equipment, perfect production process, is a high-tech enterprise in Jiangsu Province, the company has a strict environment, occupational health and safety and quality assurance system, products have been DNV/GL, LR, ABS, BV, NK, RINA, CCS and other well-known classification societies recognized.
Since 2009, the shipbuilding output of the group company has continuously ranked among the top 5 in China's shipbuilding industry, and the per capita shipbuilding output and profit and tax level of the group have ranked among the top shipbuilding enterprises in China. In 2016, it ranked 458th among China's top 500 enterprises and was shortlisted among the top 10 shipbuilding enterprises in the world. The company won the "Best Transparent Company Award" by the Singapore Exchange. Chairman Ren Yuanlin won the "Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award" in Chinese mainland in 2011.
