The predecessor of the company, Hengshui Laobaigan Distillery, was established in 1946 by nationalizing 18 private breweries in Hengshui. Its leading product Hengshui Laobai dry wine has a brewing history of more than 1,800 years, according to written records, it began in the Han Dynasty, flourished in the Tang Dynasty, and was named in the Song Dynasty, and was listed as a state banquet wine in the Ming Dynasty, enjoying the reputation of "thousands of drunk families next door, ten miles of incense in the open altar".
