Shuijingfang brand introduction

Shuijingfang logo

Sichuan Shuijingfang Co., Ltd., a well-known liquor brand in China, has an ancient liquor workshop, which was wholly acquired by Diageo in July 2013, and is a large-scale high-quality liquor production enterprise in China

Shuijingfang is located outside the old East Gate Bridge in Chengdu, and is the site of an old Sichuan wine burning workshop in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. In 2000, it was rated as one of the top ten archaeological discoveries in the country in 1999 by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, and on June 25, 2001, it was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relics protection unit. Later, it was listed in the Guinness Book of Great Worlds, "the oldest winery in the world." "The excavation of the Shuijingfang site has greatly enriched the content of the study of traditional Chinese wine culture and filled the archaeological gap in the ancient Chinese wine workshop site and winemaking process.

The elegant, sweet and elegant quality of Shuijingfang liquor is highly respected by liquor experts and favored by many people who are well versed in the way of wine tasting. Beauty is in the form, but also in the God. Liquor is both material and spiritual, and if we only consider its absolute value from the material level, it is inappropriate to discuss liquor without spiritual value, especially for high-end liquor. Consumers drink high-grade liquor, on the one hand, to meet the needs of the material level, which belongs to material enjoyment, and more to meet the needs of the spiritual level, which is the enjoyment of the spirit, so the price of liquor depends partly on the absolute value of its quality, and partly on the added value of its brand. The reason why Shuijingfang has become a model of high-end liquor in China is unique from many high-end liquors, not only because of its excellent and unparalleled "color, aroma, taste and style", but also because of the elegant culture and elegant taste contained in Shuijingfang liquor and the high value-added services provided to consumers with the help of this brand.

Wholly owned by Diageo Shuijingfang

On July 23, 2013, Diageo, a global beverage company, said that Chinese authorities had approved it to become a wholly-owned shareholder of Sichuan Chengdu Shuijingfang Group Co., Ltd., the parent company of listed liquor manufacturer Shuijingfang (600779.SS: Quotes).

Diageo said it would buy the remaining 47% of the shares held by the Chinese partner for £233 million. As a result, Shuijingfang Group will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Diageo from a joint venture company. Diageo said that after the completion of the transaction, the company's indirect shareholding in Shuijingfang will increase from 21.05% to 39.71%, and "Shuijingfang" will be completely transformed into a foreign brand.
