Louis-Ulysse Chopard opened his own watchmaking workshop in 1860 in Sonvillier, in the Swiss Jura. Chopard has been family-run for more than 150 years and has its headquarters in Geneva.
The Group is known worldwide for its watches and jewellery and today employs 2,000 people around the world. The company operates independently, tightly integrated from top to bottom, and has complete monitoring from design to sales, mastering the operation of 1,500 points of sale and 130 stores. More than 30 processes are carried out in 4 production centers with a focus on in-house training.
Chopard is known for its iconic collections such as Happy Diamonds, Happy Sport and Mille Miglia. The company is also internationally renowned for the exquisite watchmaking techniques and workshop expertise of its High Jewellery and L.U.C watch collections. History
In 1860, Louis-Ulysse Chopard founded the high-precision watch manufacture in Sonvilier, in the Jura region of Switzerland.
In 1920, Chopard moved to Geneva and began to produce high-quality watches.
In 1963, Karl Scheufele took over Chopard. He owns Karl Scheufele, a German company that bears his name, specializing in watches and jewelry.
In 1983, Chopard opened the first Chopard boutique in Asia in Hong Kong.
In 1986, Chopard opened the first Chopard boutique in Europe in Geneva.
In 2010, Chopard celebrated its 150th anniversary.
