Adidas Sports (China) Co., Ltd., founded in 1895 in the United Kingdom, was formerly known as "Foster", and once manufactured the world-famous spiked shoes - "Foster Running Shoes", which was acquired by Adidas in 2006
The Reebok brand is a household name, and Reebok's success has made it a globally famous sneaker brand. In 2006, Adidas-Salomon acquired all of Reebok's shares for $3.8 billion.
Reebok's English name "Reebok", the original meaning of the word, refers to a species of antelope in southern Africa, which is light and good at running. Reebok hopes that after wearing Reebok sneakers, consumers can be like Reebok antelopes, galloping across the vast world, and fully enjoy the fun of sports.
Headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts, Reebok International designs, sells and distributes athletic shoes, fitness shoes, casual shoes, athletic apparel and equipment worldwide under the brands Reebok, Rockport, CCM, JOFA, KOHO and Greg Norman, and designs, sells and distributes footwear products under the Polo Ralph Lauren brand in 1895 by Joseph William Foster Out of his love for sprinting, but suffering from not having enough funds, he tried to attach nails to his shoes, which was the first pair of spiked shoes in the world at that time - "Foster running shoes". The birth of spiked shoes caused a great sensation at the time, and in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, runners from many countries wore this "Foster running shoes" into the field.
In the days that followed, Joseph Foster did not rest on his laurels because of the success of the "Foster Running Shoes", but inspired him to continue with the upward trend. In 1896, Mr. Joseph Foster created the first pair of inflatable sneakers under the name PUMP, and established a company specializing in sneakers in the United Kingdom, "Fosters", and began to manufacture suitable sneakers for those top professional athletes, and this company is the predecessor of the current international sports brand giant Reebok Reebok.
Over time, Fosters expanded to focus on designing lighter sneakers to increase the speed at which athletes could run, and to expand its business into other areas of sports. In 1958, Foster's two grandsons, Joseph Foster and Jeffrey Foster, changed the brand name and logo to "Reebok".
In just over a decade, Reebok's business has grown rapidly, and by the seventies, it has become one of the top 10 best brands in the world, and it is highly favored by consumers. In 1977, Reebok began to expand his business into overseas markets, and his first overseas target market was the United States, which had great potential. By 1981, her sales had exceeded $1.5 million. Footwear sales continued to climb, soaring to $1.4 billion in 1987, a tenfold increase from 1981. Reebok is considered the fastest-growing company in the Americas.
The year 1992 was a period of transition for Reebok, as Reebok shifted its focus from fitness apparel to other sports, especially basketball shoe development. Combined with the PUMP technology that has been developed in the early stage, Reebok has developed a number of basketball shoes that combine high-tech, comfort and safety. This series of changes has been embraced by many professional athletes, who have signed with Reebok to designate Reebok as the sponsor of their sneakers and sportswear.
In 1996, Reebok signed an extensive sponsorship agreement with Liverpool Football Club in England, including all of the club's apparel sponsorships. In the same year, Reebok became one of the world's most famous sportswear brands.
In the same year, Reebok signed a cooperation agreement with Iverson, a famous basketball star at the time, which gave Reebok a new start in basketball. Reebok's first shoe for Iverson was named "question" after Iverson's nickname at the time, but we found out a year later. In the '96-97 season, Iverson took almost every award a rookie could take. Reebok then launched the "Answer" series for Iverson's shoes. AFTER A SUCCESSFUL FIVE-YEAR PARTNERSHIP, REEBOK AND THE 2000 NBA MVP SIGNED A LIFETIME CONTRACT IN NOVEMBER 2001, ENSURING THAT IVERSON WOULD REMAIN A REEBOK SIGNING STAR FOR THE ENTIRE ATHLETIC CAREER.
In 1997, Reebok introduced DMX2000 line of technology and running shoes with a composite flow bag that provides stability and cushioning at all times.
