Development Experience
Zegna Zegna was born in 1910 in Trivero, a small town in the Biella region of the Alps, and Ermenegildo Zegna is the founder of this family business. Zegna aspires to base his products on high-quality menswear fabrics, and his strategy is focused on sourcing the best raw materials from the original market and investing in advanced technology, staff training and branding. His patented fabrics, whether High Performance, 15 milmil 15 or trofeo, or those blended with cashmere and hemp, cashmere and bamboo, stand up to scrutiny.
In 1910, when he was not yet 20 years old, Ermenegildo zegna opened a handmade weaving workshop in Biella, Italy. In the beginning, this humble workshop could only produce small pieces of wool fabric. Later, when his career developed, Zegna gathered the weavers who lived on the streets and began to produce fine wool fabrics to compete with the British, who had a monopoly on the global fine wool market. After the death of Ermene Gierdo, his two sons inherited the family business. Together, they have made a strong push into the ready-to-wear market, creating first-class quality textile fabrics while launching Zegna brand menswear and targeting the world's top menswear market. The experience gained in the fabric business, as well as the possession of his own textile mill, quickly established Zegna as a leader in the Italian menswear industry.
Ermenegildo Zegna's clothing has always been delicate and flawless, elegant and simple. For a long time, Zegna has never sought novelty styles and gorgeous colors, but has been known all over the world for its exquisite fabrics, unrivalled tailoring, and extremely high production quality. Since the 80s of the 20th century, the Zegna Group has begun to expand in depth and become international in terms of business scale.
