Founded in 1985, the School of Management of Sun Yat-sen University is one of the earliest schools in China specializing in business administration education and research, and it is also a well-known business school with national influence. Since its establishment, relying on the profound cultural tradition and academic heritage of Sun Yat-sen University, and with the strong support of Hong Kong Ho Education Foundation, Fok Ying Tung Foundation, Pei Hua Education Foundation and other domestic and foreign funds, it has become an important base for cultivating high-quality professional managers and entrepreneurs in China.

The School has two first-level disciplines, Business Administration and Management Science and Engineering, of which Business Administration is a first-level discipline, a national key discipline and a key discipline of Guangdong Province, and Management Science and Engineering is a key discipline of Guangdong Province. At present, there are 6 departments of business administration, accounting, marketing, finance and investment, tourism and hotel management, management science, etc., with 2 postdoctoral mobile stations, 9 doctoral degree programs, 9 master's degree awarding points, 9 academic master's degree awarding points, 5 professional master's degree awarding points, 8 undergraduate majors and 27 provincial, university and college level scientific research institutions.

The faculty is becoming stronger and stronger

There are 109 professional teachers, including 47 professors, 34 doctoral supervisors and 50 associate professors. Among them, there is 1 "Thousand Talents Program" of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, 2 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 1 national "New Century Millions of Talents Project", 2 distinguished professors of the "Changjiang Scholars Award Program", 1 chair professor of the "Changjiang Scholars Award Program", and 8 outstanding talents in the new century. The college attaches great importance to the construction of the faculty and adopts the talent strategy of "please come in and go out" to attract academic leaders and outstanding talents. Among the faculty members of the college are PhDs from Cornell University, Humboldt University in Germany, University of Tsukuba in Japan, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and other internationally renowned universities, and 92% of the faculty have doctoral degrees, as well as overseas lectures, research, and visiting study experience. Since 2000, the school has hired more than 60 well-known economists, management scholars and entrepreneurs at home and abroad as part-time professors or visiting professors. Every year, our institute also hires more than 200 middle and senior managers from well-known enterprises as career mentors.

International exchanges are constantly expanding

The college actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation with internationally renowned universities, and the exchange and cooperation universities are located in Europe, North America, Oceania, Asia and other parts of the world. Since 2000, it has cooperated with Northwestern University, University of Florida, Columbia University, University of Miami, University of Hawaii, University of Calgary, University of Oxford, University of Reading, Humboldt University, University of Cologne, ESSEC Business School, Berkney University, Stockholm University Business School, Aarhus Business School, IE Business School, Singapore Management University, Asian Institute of Management, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, More than 100 famous universities such as the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the University of Macau, and Sun Yat-sen University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan have established close strategic partnerships, and have long-term exchange programs or joint training programs with more than 50 of them, and more than 50% of the cooperative universities have obtained EQUIS/AACSB accreditation from international business schools, and more than 15% are among the top 200 universities in the world.

In the past five years, the college has received more than 200 overseas visiting scholars and external teachers, accepted more than 300 exchange students, sent about 400 exchange students, and sent nearly 300 visiting teachers for further study and exchange.
