
Founded in 1929, it is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China to set up a business administration education system, and its industrial economics is a national key discipline and has passed the international accreditation of AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).
Fudan University, which has gone through more than a century, was the first university in China to establish a business administration education system, establishing a business school as early as 1917 and a business school in 1929. In 1952, the departments of colleges and universities across the country were adjusted, and the education of business administration was interrupted. After the reform and opening up, Fudan University took the lead in resuming management education, starting to recruit students majoring in management disciplines in 1977, establishing the Department of Management Science in 1979 and the School of Management in 1985. In 2017, Fudan University celebrated its 100th anniversary of business education.
The discipline system is complete
After more than 30 years of development and growth, the school now has 8 departments and 27 interdisciplinary research institutes. At present, the college has 5 doctoral programs in first-level disciplines, 12 doctoral programs in second-level disciplines (including self-established doctoral programs), 5 master's programs in first-level disciplines, and 17 master's programs in second-level disciplines (including self-established master's programs). There are 4 professional degree master's programs: Master of Business Administration (MBA)/Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) and Master of Accounting (MPAcc), Master of International Business, and Master of Finance. There are 7 undergraduate majors and 4 postdoctoral research stations (one of which is jointly established with the School of Economics). Industrial economics is a national key discipline, and management science and engineering is a national key cultivation discipline and a key discipline of Shanghai.
In 2010, the School launched two master's programs in Financial Management and Financial Engineering Management, a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program in cooperation with the City University of Hong Kong, and an EMBA program in cooperation with Fudan University-National Taiwan University. In 2014, the School of Management of Fudan University and the London Business School jointly launched the Master of International Business Double Degree Program (Global MiM).
The faculty is abundant
As of December 2016, there are 149 teachers, including 56 professors and 61 associate professors. 95.3% of the teachers have doctoral degrees, of which 56 have obtained overseas doctoral degrees, accounting for 37.6% of the total.
Outstanding scientific research strength
The academic influence of various majors and research directions of the college at home and abroad has been continuously improved, a group of outstanding academic leaders have been cultivated, more than a dozen high-quality academic research teams have been formed, and a number of excellent academic monographs, papers and patents have been accumulated. IT IS RANKED 96TH IN THE WORLD, 9TH IN ASIA, AND FIRST IN MAINLAND CHINA IN THE UTD TOP 100 BUSINESS SCHOOL RESEARCH RANKINGS (2012-2016).
Excellent talents come out in large numbers
The rigorous academic attitude and good learning atmosphere of the college have attracted many students to come for further study every year and cultivated a group of management elites. As of December 2016, the college has 5,269 students and more than 41,000 alumni. In 2016, more than 5,000 trainees were trained by the Executive Development Center and Fudan Management Consulting Company, and more than 34,000 enterprise managers have participated in the training so far.

Since the resumption of the establishment of the School of Management, it has widely implemented the internationalization strategy of "going out and bringing in", actively expanded international exchanges, and established various forms of exchanges and cooperative relations with 98 famous universities and research institutions in 30 countries and regions, including the United States, Italy, Norway, the United Kingdom, France, Singapore, Australia, South Korea, and Hong Kong. The internationalization strategy has covered all levels of students, faculty, scientific research, curriculum design, enterprise connections, and international cooperation research.
It has passed the international authoritative certification
In order to expand more abundant global resources and strengthen exchanges and scientific research cooperation with excellent business schools in various countries, the school has also actively joined many top international cooperation organizations. In 2007, the School of Management officially became a member of the Partnership in International Management (PIM) organization. In 2009, the School became the 173rd full member of GMAC (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) worldwide. In the same year, it successfully obtained the international certification of EQUIS (European Quality Development Certification System). In 2010, the School was accredited by AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) in the world. In the 2012 EQUIS reaccreditation, the School achieved another excellent result, becoming the first management school in Chinese mainland to obtain a five-year accreditation status.
The international ranking has steadily improved
In the 2016 Financial Times Global EMBA Rankings, Fudan University's School of Management ranked among the top 100 in the world for more than five consecutive years since 2012. In 2016, the ranking has been greatly improved, and all four participating projects are ranked in the top 50 in the world. The Fudan University-University of Washington EMBA program ranks 5th in the world and ranks among the top 10 in the world for five consecutive years. Fudan University's EMBA program ranks 40th in the world, and its four internationalization indicators rank first among business schools in Chinese mainland. Fudan University-BI Norwegian Business School MBA program ranked 39th in the world and 5th in the world for part-time MBA programs. The Fudan University-The University of Hong Kong MBA program is ranked 42nd in the world and the third fastest growing student salary in the world. In the 2016 Financial Times Global MBA Rankings, Fudan University's MBA program also jumped into the top 50 in the world.
In-depth cooperation between enterprises
As early as 1992, Fudan Management Consulting Company was established by the college to provide a full range of management consulting services for multinational companies, large domestic enterprises and government departments at all levels. Enterprises display corporate brand and culture and select talents through campus information sessions, job fairs, career information platforms, etc. The college has initiated various lecture forums such as the Management Master Forum, the Inquiry Lecture Hall, and the Gathering Forum, which have become a link for the cooperation between the institute and the enterprise. The college has also set up a full-time team to manage the school-enterprise cooperative relationship efficiently and orderly in an all-round way. Many well-known enterprises at home and abroad, including Citibank, Mastercard International, Starr Foundation, Shanghai Bell Alcatel, Nike Sporting Goods Company, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Panasonic Group, Standard Chartered Bank, Baosteel Group, Shanghai Stock Exchange, etc., have carried out various forms of cooperation with the college such as enterprise visits, student practice, forum cooperation, talent orientation training, case studies, capital and material donations, etc., to support the development of the college.
